One noob question. Can client download be stopped/paused and then resumed later ? Don't want to leave comp turned on whole night and day.

i was sure to play as a jedi guardian but the sith looked interesting as you begin playing on korriban. also the bounty hunter class is intriguing, would love to get an ospray type spaceship (like boba fetts)
also the race with cybernetic implats look really sweet, hoping to be able to play some this weekend if the servers permit it Very Happy

To simulate a launch environment, testers who have accepted new invites to weekend testing will gain testing access in staggered intervals based on when their invites were accepted. The first group of testers will be able to log on beginning on Friday morning (11/25) at 10:00AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin). Then, Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin) the second and final waves of testers will gain access. Please watch your email for details about when your phase of testing begins. This will come in a separate email from your invite.

To our existing testers: at 10:00AM CST on Friday 11/25, you will notice several new servers appear in server selection for the weekend test to accommodate all our weekend testers. You are welcome to create characters on these new servers, but please note that they will only be available for the duration of the weekend test, which ends on 11/27 at 11:59PM CST (11/28 5:59 London, 6:59 Paris/Berlin).

I played till mid 20s because that's all I had time to do between invite and a char wipe, and after the char wipe I had zero interest in the beta after that, especially after 30 hours or so of learning the mechanics and style.

I did not give a fuck about most of the voice acting and feel it's just padding most of the time. Dialogue options and script feels a whole lot like DA2 which I hated, as well as in the effect your character has on the world (none, there's no phasing)

I played a combat sentinel who even with appropriate gear and rotation (if you could call it that) was like some shitty fury warrior rogue and I hated it so much. I know I'd want to be a healer, so I started that up the other day on the newest build and it was like night and day (sub lvl 10 comparison since I didn't have time to level the sage up) in terms of fighting and downtime (read zero).

Once you get your companion it's even easier, but I hear they may have made it harder once you get your dude.

Flashpoints were neat but like WOTLK linear (think Caverns of Time linear or the Halls of Reflection, but with the length of such dungeons as The Old Kingdom ) with really simple bosses that dumbass pubbies still died from even though it was fucking obvious. Oh the boss is doing a gravity well? I haven't seen THAT before a million billion times in wow dungeons/raids, time to move out of the way *half the group dies* so I bet they'll nerf it for the retards who can't pay attention to super simple mechanics.

But then it got really grating when you did it more than once, and there was always that one or two guys who had to stop and listen to the whole thing holding the group back. No I don't want to hear the same shit AGAIN, go away, pick your choices and get out so I can go quest and do other things

The cutscenes were all pretty janky and formulamatic, and in the interest of saving money they retconned sullistans to be humanoid instead of short fat things, and somehow they can suddenly speak galactic basic. They, along with kids, use the same skeleton, just stretched. It looks stupid.

I liked things like BONUS QUESTS which were "kill x number of dudes you were going to kill anyways give or take like 5-10 mobs you would have otherwise ignored"

The combat itself was kind of interesting at first, it feels more reactionary than wow in terms of animations though wow does something similar but only on blocking. This does it all the time. No auto attack though which is kind of a downer but ignorable. Without one it makes combat feel more spammy than usual, especially with an obvious latency (which they seem to finally inputted a queue thing for abilities to alleviate that)

Environments were pretty, but nothing really important, like at times you can go "oh that piece of art looks nice" or "this is some nice composition" but in general they either look too busy or they just feel lifeless.

Performance has come along way, it used to run like horseshit but now it runs pretty decently on max settings, and once the debugger is off that should give you like 5-10 fps

There are good ideas such as making companions do the crafting for you, and ala torchlight selling your greys so you don't have to backtrack several times throughout.

The UI is total horseshit though, it's coming along slowly. Can't wait for UI mods to minimalize all the stupid fluff it has going on for the sake of looking unique.

Holocrons in the world (which are really just large maps, not seemless zones like Azeroth) are interesting, but they wanted to keep them a secret because it was a Big Thing. Except even though some are useless to your class everyone's going to want to get ALL OF THEM. Some of them you have to platform a bit to do, which is kind of frustrating at times because of the level design and it's hard to tell where one thing ends that you could walk through to get to something else. It's like putting a flag in ACB that you have to go through a restricted area and up and around some buildings to get only to find it was the next level down.

PVP, other than the fact I hate pvp except as a time waster (lol), was decent on void? (the space ship one) but absolutely terrible on huttball. Like Warsong Gulch bad. We had level 16 vs level 50s in a scaled down version. Of course it doesn't remove their abilities so they'd be using lvl 50 abilities and techniques vs others who don't even have such options. I didn't play the other one

Ship flying was like a retarded star fox that once you get upgrades nothing is a challenge anymore, but until you have upgrades you have to slog through and grind to be able to complete all the challenges instead of just surviving till the end.

Modifications are a good improvement, but now you can reuse mods? even better! I hated wasting a mod only to replace it with my next quest.

auto attack is not as big a thing in wow either :

Mage (all), Priest (all), Warlock (all), Shaman (ele/resto), Druid (balance/resto), Paladin (healer)

dont use auto attack at all.

Melee classes/talents' auto-attack damage output is usually slim to none (very VERY low percentage in pve and basicly none in pvp).

Only class that actually uses auto-attack is Hunter lol.

So what? Your skills would just be buffed by a flat 20% to compensate. Auto-attack really is meaningless.
