Does steam update (1.5GB) for all the dlc's changes exe's also? Cuz it its only dlc content guess it should work with skidrow exe's |
For some reason it doesn't, I have the DLC file there but nothing when the game is loaded up, Since Skidrows crack is a steam version then I'm guessing thats how they stripped the DRM, why fraps works and seeing as how the initial steam release had no more than one dlc why this version only has one. I'm making assumptions but I'm guessing it's an early .exe.

To get this clear. So steam version also uses one big DLC file in main game folder for dlc's and not dlc.dlc1.big to dlc.dlc9.big in LANoire\final\pc?

Wait for a repack, simple as that. Skidrow is fast with that shit.

Dunno mate, I haven't got the Steam version. Maybe someone else can tell us. If not then perhaps there is a possibility they could upload the separate files somewhere.

Copied the 400mb skidrow files over the Theta installation. Loads much faster during the "checking for dlc" stage (obviously, since it doesn't support the dlc). Drove around town a bit, no stuttering/slowdowns. Would have to check during an actual case if it stays like that, but so far it seems the bad performance was really Theta's fault (or dlc-related). Shame.

fraps is working with skidrow, shows 30 fps occasional drops to 29-28 but for someone that is kind of used to play in 50-60 fps pc mode it still feels kind of laggy, playable but laggy

This big 'dlc' file is a zlib archive, which contains nine DLCs inside.
All we need is to unpack it to separate files.

Steam version is just a big file as well, not multiple ones.

INSTALL NOTES
1. Unpack the release where the game has been installed " \final\pc "
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Seriously Rockstar Games, why use a protection that ends up punishing
people that actually buy your games? Team Bundi did an excellent piece
work on this game, and yet you made the game suffer with the protection
added to it. Some people that bought the game, can't even run the game
because of this clever protection. Protections like this one can get
too clever, that it is the reason for lower framerates, and in the end
make the game almost unplayable for others
Imortant:
* Latest game update is included with the cracked content
* Make a local profile, by using Rockstar's Social-Club, so you can be
able to load/save

CMON! Can start playing it again now then carry on with Saints Row 3! Though if by some miracle Arkham City does come out on UK steam tomorrow that will take precedence.

It's a great game, but I'll give it a rest until I get a better CPU, my dual 3.0GHz just isn't up to the task. Had to let my partner drive all the time since in the city the game was a like a rheumatic sloth. |
Get the skidrow release. | Had that already. It seems dual cores are just not good enough for this. In closed scenes it's running great, as soon as I set foot outside the whole thing comes to a crawl. Not stuttering or swapping, simply becomes slow (rulebook example of lack of CPU power).
At first I had the Theta release, used the command prompt variables, and it was the same then. i was hoping the Skidrow release would really help this, but apparently not.
EDIT: hm. What exactly those commands do again? The reinstall didn't clear out the previous options and they were still there in the SR version. I might reDL if those can be the culprit.

Skidrow <3 |
hhahahaa, I like how they poke fun at themselves for messing something up. |
Well what you want, boundle has been trolling all over the internets, and the Skidrow dude is probably a member on most of them (mostly cs.rin.ru and ali123 forums), trolling for cracks to repack.
