Is it just me or this game looks worse then BO, MW2, MW1? :O Even freaking CoD2 has some textures sharper then this shit -.-

Well after playing a while now i can give my opinion. The SP campaign is awesome and really good as always, just as i thought it will be, the characters are memorable.

I haven't played a lot of Spec Ops but from what i've seen the co-op mode is good and really upgraded, so just like the SP mode it's good as always, so people who enjoyed it before, should enjoy it now. Smile


And now the Multiplayer ... well it's fun, really is. The weapons and perks
are great, the upgrade and unlock system also. The Killstreaks aren't that IMBA as they were in MW2, so yes -> MW3 is ballanced in terms of Killstreaks. But ... the biggest "but" in that game is called .... maps !!!

The maps are just not what they should and what they have been in that francize. There is just lack of "classic" maps, there are just no remembering maps, that could make you want to play on them all the time (like Crash, Strike and etc. in CoD 4). Even MW2 maps after playing on MW3 ones, looks like a "Golden Globe" winners compared to the maps in MW3.

In previous CoD games the maps were like different segments in which different people from the two teams are fighting against each other, there were left and right flangs, central spots and etc., the segment character of the maps in previous CoD games was noticeable. But there is no such thing in MW3 - the maps are chaotic, u just run and shoot if u see an enemy, there is no such thing like different zones and segments, i haven't played a lot but i still can't say that there is a map that is worth of playing on it as a sniper ...

Both CoD 4 and MW2 had great maps, but from what i've seen so far the biggest problem of MW3 Multiplayer is the lack of great and classic maps ...

Which is sad, cuz they managed to ballance the game, to put some great weapons and stuff, but this time they shitit it up in the maps aspect of the game. So if the game got maps like MW2 ones and gameplay system like MW3 would be much, much better ...

I dont know how much this is beacause of the lack of Zampella and the other owners of the IW and that Sledghammer were involved in the MP, but back then when Zampella was in charge --> maps were one of the best things in the MP part of that game.

Still i think that the MP is fun.

It's the palette; in this game they're using a bland greenish 1337 tint that makes everything look flat and kinda "lifeless".

Textures/models are the same (I mean literally Laughing) but as Consolitis said some posts ago the lighting is indeed worse than the previous Modern Warfares. Oh well who cares, at least the game has awesome gameplay Cool Face

Am I the only one getting incredible stuttering on MP sometimes (not all the time), on my E6600@3.5GHz ? 100% UC and everything.. If i quit it, then it's fine. Should I reduce Steam priority ? Didn't have this issue on MW2

CJ's CD Keys

Do not recommend them. 2 Skyrim keys, 1 MW3 key. Yes they refunded the 2 Skyrim keys pretty quick, but I ended up paying 2.50 in transaction fee still for useless cd keys. 1 MW3 key, I never even downloaded, gone. Now I have to run through hoops with them, and if I even get a refund, will pay another 1.25 transaction fees. Basically spent 90 bucks, got jack shit. That's what I get for trying to be a cheap bastard I suppose.

I wonder what the ex IW guys at Respawn Entertainment will do. Hopefully it will be a good addition to EA's portfolio, so that the competition of these 2 games will force innovation on both ends

Respawn's game is going to be scifi, so I expect it to compete with Halo and GeoW not CoD. CoD's competition is MoH and BF.

60 people is enough. Serious Sam 1 was done with like 12...

And as for 2015...I think it has something to do with their first studio being 2015 Smile

And I seriosly doubt game development takes 5 years, putting Duke Nukem Forever aside. What matters most is what engine they are using. Since they do have an engine already, comming from a blurry screenshot on their website, I'd have to guess they settled on a certain tech. It might be frostbite2, might be any of the id tech's, since they have a lot of experience with that. Might be even Epic's Unreal... god knows.

My guess is that next year just after Activision starts promoting COD 9 we will have some bombshell from EA showcasing something Respawn has done and a release scheduled for either late 2012 or 2013.

And games dont compete only on setting, like modern warfare or ww2. They compete on principles of gameplay. Ie fast paced shooter, tactical shooter, fantasy rpg etc.

My guess would be a heavily scripted singleplayer campaign and a fast paced no vehicles multiplayer shooter. Basically their bread and butter formula.

And you don't need 500 people, unless you have a 2year dev cycle

TBH I see only Valve and Blizzard as the only 2 companies that give a fuck about the pc.

While I've never been a real fan of Valve's work, except for the L4D series of games, I do recognize the quality they bring to the table.

And Blizzard - well it's blizzard. They haven't fucked up a single game until now and are really focused on selling stuff on the PC, rather using a clone machine.

And both of these companies can do whatever the fuck they want, since each has their milking cows. Blizzard has a gazzilion player still playing WOW, while valve has a strong IP portfolio and HalfLife that WILL sell like pancakes.

So whatever RESPAWN does under the flag of EA - it will be consolized derped shit. And that's a shame. EA needs a good cash cow IP like BattleField, but on a bigger scale. And that drive for corparate bonuses and profit will make the games worse in the end.

But I really hope that EA or Ubi or someone enters the fight with COD 1 ON 1 with a decent game and good marketing. The genre needs innovation, and not in graphics mostly, but rather in gameplay mechanics and whatnot.

Respawn's game is no different than Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, DeathSpank, or even Portal 2, all developed by independent studios, under the EA Partners label.

This is the reason I am also telling you EA's response to CoD is going to be MoH and BF. Respawn's game isn't going to be pushed by EA any more than they pushed eg Crysis 2 or Bullestorm.

Neither are they going to give them access to Frostbite 2.

Nor are, let's say DICE or BioWare, going to provide assistance.

I am serious. Extra is 720p stretched to screen resolution. Looks ugly. Then changed to native and graphics are way better. Google it if you dont believe me. Or go to steam forums.
