i have a question that will look very dumb to others, but hey, lets give it a try (i've asked it before and didnt get a normal answer).
when the data is burnt on the cd, its all zeroes and ones, right? this is what makes the cd-rom disc.
why cant we, with a very good burner for example, or with some kind of other method, read ALL the data on the cd, and then copy it 1:1 to another cd.
i know the files INSIDE are encrypted, but on the surface, they just mean 1 & 0, there must be a way to read it all, i mean, the companies burn it somehow dont they?

starforce uses an timing technique they check sector Y to sector Z then they compare how long this takes to read when the correct time the game launch .with an dvd-r disc or dvd+r disc check time for sector Y to sector Z will be not the same as an original disc so game fails to launch . this also explains why some dvd roms does can't even start an original disc cause the starforce checks are very sensetive .

The game simply won't start... Of course there maybe somewhere a way to emulate it... but now there's no such thing...

well, how the original discs are burnt? some kind of an industrial cd/dvd burner? isnt there a burner that its accuracy is as good as this one?

Original discs are not burned, they are pressed... and the different layer's materials have different physical characteristics... therefore different read times...

It means that the CD isn't recorded... but the matrix is used to produce CDs... You can recognize pressed CD by the Silver colour on the back side...

So then our focus for defeating starforce should be emulating the read times on a clone.. not cracking it. Tricking starforce into thinking the clone mounted on your drive while hiding everything with SFN should be a simpler task I think than cracking an evolving protection.

then you contact starforce and they generate you a key for full install based on our hardware. They send you an tool and you generate it. They know the drives that cause problems and generate you the new serial to bypass check without having CD in drive.

what do you think alcohol, gamecheck 5 or dtools do?
but its not that easy to do it 100% for every game. Thatswhy in the past you saw MI clones and now they added data checks and other stuff. They are not dumb at starforce as they know how to crack every protection because they need to know it as they stole code/methods from securoms metamorphosis, tages, copylok and Softshields protectCD 5 (some ppl call it VOB as thats the formaer company).
But both protections are nothing compare to newest version of Xtreme Protector. I wonder when we will se the first game with it. This is much closeer to uncrackable then SF3.
What for SF3 counts counts for protectCD too its just harder then sf3 because they have some ingame data used to check the protected files and if not working they morph code and game doesnt work proper (difficult level rises etc. etc.)

So why won't a clone work for Splinter Cell or Trackmania (I've tried neither, just heard they can't be played). If you can perfect clone these CDs shouldn't you be able to trick the protection with a full clone? (not just a MI)
