What do you actually get out of doing the quests if the leveling system is all based around leveling the diffferent skillsets individualy?
Most of the quests are pretty fun to do but a some of them are very tedious and if the only reward is a few hundred gold I really don't see the point in doing them.
I'm not being a prick, but to me it is obvious this isn't your kind of game
100's of hrs of fucking around, my kinda game
So I have the ebony claw, but cannot for the life of me get the right combo. Halp pl0x!
Spoiler:
The clue is in the clue you found on the journal '...if you have the claw, the answer is in the palm of your hand...'
Spoiler:
You have to literally look at the item in your inventory, the combination is there, and if I remember correctly it's BEAR at top, OWL at bottom and the other thing in the middle.
Omg this changes everything! I kept complaining how the fuck could they have removed moving objects from the game then, I read that and went OMG! best game ever!!
I don't get it. Sure it's slightly more entertaining than Oblivion, but that's not a big feat. But the good things are pretty much limited to a slightly more interesting game world and a few other smaller details. Other than that it's almost exclusively bad; combat isn't good, spell selection is horrible and is all combat-focused, no spell making, character development is poor, few skills, no attributes, no custom class, etc., still the same stupid follow the quest compass gameplay, better but also completely linear dungeons, largely poor dialog, so far only boring weapons and armor( no uniques/named) with formulaic enchantments, quests still the same old go to dungeon X, bring back item Y/kill person Z, and many, many more flaws. UI doesn't even need mentioning.
So yeah...I've been playing it many hours a fair bit too, in the hopes of discovering teh awesomeness everyone seem to be talking about, but I'm really just finding more of the same. What exactly is it people find good about it?
I'm having severe slowdown with my i7 and GTX 460, but only indoors. Funny thing is, I installed the game yesterday and it was smooth. Then I installed the repack update from RazorDOX and now the game runs like crap indoors, and I tried reinstalling the game with and without updates, and nothing works now. All Ultra settings too.
Took a picture I quite liked, not sure how to remove crosshairs and shit like that though, just for pictures sake... hope there will be an UI striper addon soon enough when you take a screenshot , also, is there an ingame screenshot taker?
Amazing so far. The world really does seem massive and immersive. 17 hours in and barely left the Whiterun area. Not touched any of the guild quest lines either.
So is there anyway to rotate objects from the inventory menu with the mouse and keyboard? I tried every combination of buttons and only found out that C zooms in on the object, I tried everything.

Others have been having this problem, what works for me is putting the cursor over the image of the object and mouse scrolling upwards. It'll hide the menu just showing you the object so you are free to rotate etc.
Can someone please post JBeckman's ini files. I saw three configs several pages back but one was just test.ini and I'm not sure if that's SkyrimPrefs.ini or Skyrim.ini. I have great faith in JB's work and am eager to check his latest endevour. Also where do I put the video card name as in sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570" do I change the ones in Docs or the ones in the game directory or all of the above? Usually good at this but suckin out tonight. lol. Any help would be great thanks in advance guys!

What a game, just so well done, so many stuff to find, so much to do.
And best of all my beloved stealth gameplay is even better in this one than it was in Oblivion.
ii killed some woman in town and i was hanging out in her husbands house and some hired guards broke in and tried to kill me and the husband turned around and killed them, i looted their bodies and it was a contract from the husband to kill me for murdering his wife
That's some mess up Radiant AU Good Shit! Hope I bump into stuff like this very often.

It's derpy for the moment, needs patching
It's not derpy and it already HAS been patched. This has been mentioned countless times in this thread so far; you NEED the update "Skyrim - Interface.bsa" file, so get the 100MB+ Razor repack update.
I still cannot get this game to run and I have tried both the Razor release and the Retail version unpacked with Phoenix then updated with the Update 1 Repack. I can get the game started but as soon as the opening movie starts, I only see a black screen but hear the horse and cart.
I am kind of surpriseded after looking over the last 20 pages here to see I am the only one with this problem as I was hoping someone else might have had this issue as well by now so I could possibly find a solution.

You need updated files, razors original crack + update 1 included buggy files.
God I'm glad I bought the game. So far no issues (except trying to learn how to effectively use the dimwit UI/inventory).
Can anyone list a few of them and where to find them, please? I'm looking for any type at this point, but would prefer a mage or archer type.
Thanks!
Do the Azura Shrine side quest to get a really OP mage follower. The downside of using mages early in the game however is that they kill most enemies almost instantly so your skills will increase slower than usual.
