If you want to enjoy this game see it as some kind of TV show and play in short intervals. This is not a game you can play hours at an end without getting bored.

I have already finished L.A. Noire on the Xbox 360 but I installed it for PC in order to get the DLC missions. First impressions are terrible : stuttering and unimproved graphics, no improvement over the Xbox360 version whatsoever. Uninstalling...

Hi there! A little help with the game: when I need to read a document it´s always very fuzzy, I can´t see what´s writing on it. That doesn´t happend in the Xbox version. It´s maybe cause I´m playing with the -str commandline (without it Lag, Lag everywhere...)
Anyone with the same problem? Thanks!

i'm using -str too, but i have no problem reading documents/letters,etc.. i only have problem with lag, but i guess it's just my old c2d

I'm also quite addicted to this game as well. Even though, every case seem to follow a well-established and routined pattern, they're well done. And it's not a short game by a long shot too.

Try to update drivers (if you're not using the latest ones), or revert to the old ones..it's a weird issue indeed but it's not crack related Wink

You either re-install the game or update your graphics drivers, or both.

Hey guys, I have this installed on my desktop rig and it runs very well with all the above command lines and patching advice. But I'm taking a trip soon and I was hoping to put the game on my Alienware M11x R3.
(I5 model) While I got it patched via the safe mode method, the game crashes upon launch with the following error

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: LANoire.exe
Application Version: 2393.1.0.0
Application Timestamp: 00000000
Fault Module Name: nvd3d9wrap.dll_unloaded
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 4e99225d
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 71e02730
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033
Additional Information 1: 0a9e
Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Additional Information 3: 0a9e
Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

At first I thought the crashing was due to the Nvidia Optima technology from looking at the "nvd3d9wrap.dll_unloaded" thats named in the error above but I am reading reports that the game runs very well on this laptop.
Ive tried updating direct X but it continues to give me that same error upon launch. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Rockstar says:

Quote:
Answer: Nvidia Optimus setups are not supported, have not been tested, and may require configuration to run off the correct graphics card. Based on the error reports submitted so far, it appears that Optimus setups run into an error on "nvd3d9wrap.dll" when launching L.A. noire
Please refer to Nividia technical support for further information and Nvidia driver conflicts --http://www.nvidia.com/object/optimus_technology.html

So you are out of luck as far R* is concerned. Write to nvidia's forums, I think(?) that once thy become informed about such issues (re: Optimus) they fix them with upcoming drivers.

I'm a little baffled with the whole facial expressions in the game. I watch the faces closely when interrogating the suspects, but the problem is that the same face doesn't mean the same behavior. For example, I successfully doubt a claim and remember the expression. The next time that face comes up I doubt it again but this time it's wrong. What gives? If I can't trust the faces, I usually hardly have much to go on. Why couldn't they just give you real dialogue trees Sad
Anyone else noticed anything like that?

Actually, it gets worse and worse. Especially after you realize you've been arresting innocents.

and then you get a flamethrower and die in a sewer Laughing and they had some crazy idea that all missions are interconnected by newspapers Laughing

maybe you should have chosen lie? i think the doubt and lie expressions are basically the same, guilty face look.. it's just that, if you have a real concrete evidence, go with lie, if not, but he's doing the guilty face, go with doubt.. don't worry, i made mistakes too, especially if i didn't pay attention to the evidences i actually had but didn't notice/remember
