Yes, upgrade your PC or turn down some settings? Sounds harsh, but it's true. I've had no performance issues whatsoever on my rig, always running 50-60 even in towns. Though if you're running CrossFire on AMD, disable one of the cards.

No one seen this LOOKUP FAILED shit?
Messing around in the registry, I did have a failed installation but all entries point to the correct folder and still this?
Been trying to get the game started for two hours!

Alright I got it, thanks. The game is great. Too bad it's really been made for the consoles instead of the PC which wasn't the case with Oblivion which was a graphical powerhouse. 5gb for a game like this, with these low res textures clearly points to the fact that they created it for the consoles as a first priority. None the less, great game.

could someone who has similar specs or just knows config editing well make a decent config for my setup?
i have a radeon 5450m and a core i5 U470 and 4GB of ram.
i know it is able to be played because i was able to run it decently and i am sure i used a medium to high config but i would like more FPS because it started to bog down with fogs/fire etc...

@Pixieking
So far quite a few people have reported severely crippled performance when running crossfire. Sausage dropped from 60 to mid 20s, for instance.

I know the feeling. I can get the game started but am greeted by a black screen as soon as the opening movie starts playing but I can still hear it playing in the background. I have unzipped the iso and also tried mounting it to reinstall multiple times but I am still having the same error. When I install everytime, it never asks for SID file you have to select on you dvd drive like the Razor readme states so I am not sure if that is the issue. This kind of sucks since it took me about 7 hours to get this version and I would hate to have to download another.

Pixieking wrote: | Huh... Missed that post. My fps isn't shockingly great, but it looks a lot better than those pics. *shrugs* Found a.dll fix that I'll drop in and see if it makes a difference until the new CAP. |
Just give it a try, run fraps, save on 1 point, check fps (ofc not inside facing a wall -.-'), disable second card, load up game and see on exact same spot the fps then.
Edit: You mean this dll? http://www.overclock.net/t/1164844/skyrim-crossfire-issues-complete-list-of-known-fixs-here-atiumdag-dll-fix-inside

@DarkSkies
It sounds to me like you're NOT running the latest version. You can't just run the Razor copy, it's not complete - even their "update" isn't full. Look back through this thread and you'll see JBeckman posted a proper update archive, over 100MB, that has the updated files you need (specifically Skyrim - Interface.bsa which fixes the issues you're describing) I've had NO issues whatsoever with rotating items, dropping items, entering/exiting menus, resting, etc etc.

i did apply the update,
when i set to controls to my preference, the 'r -drop' function stops working,
when i reset to default controls, everything works
ok I finally figured it out
the menu itself says R - Drop
but the function is set to the key for ready / sheath which is S
so the menu isnt updating

It works fine if you use Oblivion game profile via RadeonPro utility.
And according to @CatalystCreator on Twitter:
'We're working on a CAP update for Skyrim; as soon as an ETA is known I'll let you guys know'
'Catalyst 11.11 will resolve Rage issues; we're also working on a new performance driver (one of the updates should be CF for Rage)'
(Cat 11.11 coming next week).

Can give it a try, tho i don't like using tools outside ATI/AMD own ones.
And the twitter, i did post that info already.

Yup, that's the one. Performance seems a lot better, though I haven't run fraps or alt-tabbed out to check for sure.

I have a 6990 which isn't bottlenecked by my i7 920 @ 4.1GHz (your cpu is a better btw) at all at this point, making out @ 60fps on Ultra settings with pretty much everything on (ini edits), although it does dip, but I've never seen it drop below 47 and that was for less than a few seconds. Don't think bottlenecking is the issue.
