Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.
We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.
We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.
While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.
We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.
We will reopen the forums as soon as we can.
I am truly sorry this happened, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Gabe."

CJS CD Keys Regarding Skyrim RU: An agent at our russian supplier office just reported to us that even HE is unable to play the game from russia (he also gets 'not available in your region' error.). Considering that the agent can't even play the game in the region that the game was made for, It is very possible that upon release date the game will become unlocked. Anyone who wants a refund on Skyrim, please hold up at least just for 9 hours, as it is very possible that in 9 hours Skyrim will become region free and playable worldwide.
Can at least one of the tards claiming that it's running on Gamebryo give some actual technological evidence for this claim (file structure, etc), other than that they think it "looks like it" or has similar problems?
Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.
This contains two BSA archives (Exe file version is identical, ini files might differ though.) which were updated compared to what was in the SIM/SID container archive / disc image.
Is this 'update' for apply after 'Update 1 RazorDOX' or what??

And another thing: The mouse buttons seem to be inverted. For instance, I have a spell in my left hand and a mace in the right one, and if I want to use the spell, I have to click the RMB and LMB to mace-strike. And I can't even re-map these two particular buttons in the controls menu.
Someone else having this oddity?
yep, set up as weapon primary and magic secondary, kinda reminds me of bioshocks plasmid/gun setup.
Another bug I got was CTD while waiting in game, crashed as soon as I confirmed the wait period.
Which part of how it feels, looks and reacts to you doesn't immediately remind you of every last iteration of a Bethesda game using the same thing?
It doesn't matter if it "feels" like it. One engine can mimic another. That's more in the hands of the developer, and what they do with the engine, than anything. I doubt anyone would guess that Need for Speed The Run is running on the same engine as Battlefield 3, from the "feel" of it. That's not proof.
Quote:
Technological evidence will come once people start ripping it apart and delving in, no doubt it'll sound something like "well there's a fair bit that's changed but it's essentially the same". Time will tell.
That's what I'm asking for. If nobody has that kind of evidence, they need to stop making the claims as though they're fact. Or go ahead and look like tards, that's their prerogative if they so choose.[/i]
RU version only works in Russia. Region lock, do your research!
I AM in Europe, it decrypts without VPN but wont install due to the key being RU, I start with VPN and it wond decrypt just stays on pre-load.
So my simple question was what timeframe would it start working at.
It didnt need a douchebag reply.
Edit: Ah i see u changed EU to RU

Just look in the data folder, bsa and esm files just like any other game by bethesda on the gamebryo
Doesn't really mean squat. There's no reason to change data formats just because they've rewritten large parts of the engine. And just because large parts of the engine has been rewritten doesn't mean they've replaced the renderer itself.
Whether it's Gamebryo 2.0 or a new name, there's just too much focus on the name of the engine. A game engine != renderer. It's a whole set of different parts doing different things. No technical information has been released. Besides, a lot of the look comes from how the world was designed and lit, not what renderer is used (although the renderer tends to have a certain set of shaders, lighting routines etc).

Nobody is sure right now. People in RU can't even play RU version right now and get the same region error. I've heard somebody say 11am russian time on 11/11, which is like 6hours or so. So that'd be my guess, either then, or at midnight with US release. Then can see if the russian keys work or not.

Ohhh I'm sorry, I'm just pissed myself that I'm in the same situation as you. According to CJS facebook:
"Apparently skyrim is still not working even in RU. So it's good news, since it means there is still hope that Skyrim will become region free once the game is released! Office is closing now but we will continue replying to tickets tomorrow morning and try to get everyone's questions and queries solved."
I doubt the RU key lock will be lifted. It SHOULD have been released in russia 5-6 hours ago, but it still stays on preload. I tried all VPS from Russia, to UK to Australia.. none of them work.
It sucks that it has the same terrible LOD as FO:NV, i can't believe they've kept that shitty tech... Expect to see shimmering LOD mountains, like this:
Very ugly and distracting imo. Neither Morrowind or Oblivion had that, so it's a step down.

Aha, so it's looking like they've only clamped down on the RU activated keys.
Glad i'm not really in Russia then, I'd be well pissed having to wait because of a load of cheapskates in a different country wanted to get Skyrim on the cheap (Admittedly, i AM one of the cheapskates hehe)
I'm sorry to have to say this, but technically, this game on PC is rubbish.
Utter shit controls - and I really mean utter shit. In 2011, you have to tweak multiple lines of *.ini files just to set your X axis sensitivity right (Y is still faster, no matter what I tweak).
UI straight for consoles, the one, who said this can launch for the PC needs to be fired.
The game engine still is very clunky, not to add it still can't handle shadow calculations.
So far my opinion is very negative about the game. I'll give gameplay a chance, but melee combat is as braindead as it was in Oblivion. I knew this game wouldn't be groundbreaking for me, but I have to force myself to play it atm.
PS. I know mods will fix some of the issues, like the terribad textures, but that's exactly the reason, why Beth doesn't deserve a single cent from me. I'd rather pay to the mods, who make something out of this utter mess.
Man.. WHAT THE FUCK! I have been waiting for this game for soooo long. This UI is AWFUL!
Is it just me or are some interface elements not taking mouse clicks?
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
