Question: Is there more than one way to solve those dispatch cases? Because I left a trail of bodies behind me up untill this point.

http://www.boallen.com/fps-compare.html/
it always amazes me that 30fps on console is smooth with analog sticks, until i see 60fps version on pc with kb+mouse that is.
Imo playing pc game 30fps locked is horrendous and not acceptable unless there is high amount of motion blur like Crysis

Hmm, since the L.A. Noire game engine is Team Bondi proprietary (it was started years before Rockstar picked it up), does anyone know if the renderer use DirectX or OpenGL on PC?

It's a (typical) bad port , hence quite demanding even if the visuals aren't that impressive.
Some people can run it without problems, others can't even start it/get past the menu..cross your fingers and give it a shot, the game itself is good

Hmm I just watched some videos on youtube about Shenmue.. not much action there. it was like 5% kicking asses and 95 % video and talking.. is it the same with L.A. Noire? If it is like that I will be really disappointed... 2 days left on the download... :S

LA Noire isn't really an action game, in most of the missions you don't even shoot anyone.
It feels more like a mix between the classic adventure games mixed with the dialog system of a modern RPG.

Avira probably deleted it, which should be the next thing you do to her.
The driving part is just awful, I'm glad you can make your partner drive.

Well I don't know about the shooting, I shot what must have been at least half of the members of two distinct gangs and Phelps asked for one ambulance. I'm starting to believe that ambulance is a repurposed clown car.

Everything is on rails in this game. I can't control the outcome of the dispatch calls, I can barely control the car, I can't even control what Phelps is saying, I've been afraid to choose any of the 3 options all day because all of them, except truth, launch him into a litany of insults. The man doesn't merely jump at conclusions, he leaps at them and probably does things to them that I don't want to know about. Also what kind of game doesn't even let you park the car?
