Things are getting really interesting after the first hour (which is basically a tutorial), if someone manages to remove the framerate cap it's perfect

pillermann wrote: | Right, if you're experiencing the issue where neither the game nor the updater wants to run but just sits there in the task manager and you're using Comodo Defense+ then that's the problem. You need to permanently disable D+ in the settings and reboot, not just simply turn it off. I just did and it patched np. Not a problem with the rls btw but with the game itself:

Note their instructions are wrong, simply adding the exe to exclusions didn't work for me. Hope it helps. |
Thanks! Just added to the exclusions and it works fine now. No need to restart or anything.

Smooth as silk now, thanks! That hitching was making it barely playable.

Without a framerate cap the faces videos would likely play out of sync. |
Ah, damn it

If fps is capped to 30, I won't even bother. I simply refuse to play a game, that looks like this (nothing special), with a hardlocked 30 fps in 2011.

Ofc the texture work sucks, pop ins from time to time, sluggish controls... basically the authentic Xbox experience for your home PC. But omg facial animations so realistic! Totally makes up for it all! |
Plug in your 360 controller (if you have one) for the perfect "PC experience", it's almost mandatory

Read this page about closing your antivirus and rebooting. It could be it.
BTW the readme says the installation of that Rockstar club app is OPTIONAL, not mandatory as people have been saying.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

So how am I supposed to be able to play with the Ali213 version?
I double click on LANoire.exe and it just gives me an application load error (with and without that 3DM crack).

The readme has list of what gamepads it supports, check it out. |
Holy shit, it works without any tweaks! I take back everything I said about Rockstar's bad console ports. 30 fps and works with my pad - this is like having a real Xbox at home. <3
Social Club installation was mandatory btw, game would crash for me otherwise. |
My bad, it says registration is optional.
Quote: | During the L.A. Noire activation process you will be prompted to register with Rockstar Games Social Club.
Please note that Social Club registration is not mandatory to play the game, but to experience the maximum
functionality of L.A. Noire PC, including Social Club Awards, stat tracking and the Ask The Community feature
we highly recommend that you sign up to a Social Club Account. (...) The installation of the Rockstar Games Social Club application is required to install and play L.A.Noire, but you are not required to create an online Social Club account to play the game. |

I really like the game. It's a quest in its heart. But too linear and especially guided.

I expected a more open and branched-out gameplay. At least they should've made that when you're at a corner stone of being promoted, a list of, let's say, 3 case can be presented before you, so that you can pick up the one you fancy the most.
But even in its current husk the game is really good. Will finish it for certain.

Oh, I see, I was confused because quests were kind of linear, notable exceptions being Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Gabriel Knight and... many others. I think I just argued with myself and proven myself wrong... I'll shut up now.
