Aha thanks I'll look into that, I was planning to strip the drive down to see if I could see any obvious signs of damage, decided not to do it today as I was a little wound up and might put it through the window Wink

Since this XGD3 shit I have bought Rage, Dark Souls, Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and preordered Skyrim.

I could have done with that money for Xmas lol.

What speed are You people burning discs with?
I am using imgburn(clear log with no sptd error) and IO cant choose 2,4Xspeed.

It automates to 4x

ok, i dunno it depends on your burner you could edit the media codes in the firmware if the utility on the cdfreaks forums allows it, thats if you want to take the risk.

I have a new slim xbox360 with LT2.0 Iextreme firmware.

Can i play and burn XGD3 games on it, and wich ones works ?

How do i burn those XGD3 games and have someone a good tutorial how to do?

Imgburn is really the best software? any good/better alternatives? CloneCD? CloneDvd?

becouse I cant choose 2,4 speed with imgburn. Only 4,6,8

Maybe I should update my ihas124 y firmware? Is there any official way or something?

My box only reads 2.4x burned games properly , 4x..every second or third one..had problems when I first bought it , but I switched to another drive that supports 2.4 properly so everything is fine.

and Its weird that it matters... Its only a writing speed. What does it have to do with reading?

What do you mean with "original" games? Legit copies from the store aren't burned... Rolling Eyes

And burningspeed can matter with older drives. Slower speed reduces writing errors. Most drives don't care about this, but when the drive gets older, it can make the disc unreadable to that drive.

Same here.
I tried burning a few at 4x and they never worked properly. Either the game would start and glitch in the middle somewhere or it wouldn't boot right at all and give me a dirty disc error.

I've never had a game not work burning at 2.4x

I have 120gb elite jasper model with liteon lt2.0

Every speed works on my xbox. i just have a problem with burning. right now failed on 4 discs trying to burn halo anniversary and one other game.... ok. Dissassembled pc, Rewired power to the drive(Ihas124 Y) as separate from hdd. Disabled every overclocking of cpu and memoryin bios to defaults.

Ok. if disc will be fucking up now, then I dont know... maybe its a shitty writer tho its basicly new(6months)
