You’ll never have to stop questing in the upcoming open-world role-playing game, to be released November 11 for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. Skyrim director Todd Howard told Wired.com in a phone interview Monday that the game will feature a never-ending stream of procedurally generated content, giving players an infinite number of things to do.
“The vibe of the game is that it’s something that you can play forever,” Howard said.
The game’s Radiant quest system randomly generates new tasks based on your progress in the game. An innkeeper might ask you to hunt for bandits in a place you haven’t found yet, or an aspiring alchemist could request that you collect 10 undiscovered flowers for his work. Howard claims that the options are endless.
In addition to these minor tasks, Howard says you’ll be able to do extra work for each of the game’s factions, like the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild. Once you complete the scripted quest lines for each group, you can go to their respective hubs and pick up randomly generated missions to steal gems or assassinate shopkeepers across Skyrim’s massive world.
Well, whatever I say about Oblivion, I have to say this: Dark Brotherhood was fucking awesome.
Sounds cool, just hope it wont be like freelancer where the randomly generated quests were the same thing over and over again.
Nice idea, just hope they've put some thought into it and what this would mean for the modding community...
Thankfully it seem as if they have put atleast minimum thought into it, even if it does end up like freelancer; it will more often than not, take you to somewhere you haven't been before.
edit: I really hope Radiant story will be more successful than Radiant AI, the more procedural elder scrolls becomes, the better.
I bought my preorder like a month ago, but I didnt recieve a key yet. Someone here said they had not recieved their keys yet, which is why they cant send them out. I dunno if its true. Maybe I just misunderstood.

You will be notified by email when the keys have been replenished and are ready for collection! Latest hype video, The Animation of Skyrim.
Say what you will about Bethesda peeps, but nobody manages pre release hype better. Here I am close to pulling the same shit I did with Oblivion, which I was going to "sample" first, but ended up buying because I couldn't wait another 4 hours (and that's about how long it took for the iso demo to come out after I bought it).
