Got to love all those retro looking games. Glad to see this art-style making a comeback. It's making me feel all nostalgic. TY for heads up.

Released on Gamersgate, no protection.

EDIT: 90 MB.

EDIT: Neat, uses XNA 4.0

EDIT:

(It's a bit weird and I'm not good at all with these sorts of games but I'm having a lot of fun with it.)

I kinda like how it reminds me of older NES (I had no computer back then.) games though the game play mixes things up via this ball bouncing on your staff gameplay.
(I have no idea how it works but the wizard tranfsorms into a ball and then uses his staff to bounce around, can find shops and hidden locations or even powerups like staff extensions, magnetism and of course keys, gold, 1-ups and also problematic negative "buffs".)

Took the first boss (And was reminded of Castlevania due to the whole fight and health bar setup, not as difficult though.) and the second world feels a bit better with new encounters.

Also started donating to rebuild that village which has given some small items so far but I'll likely get something better once I've build up everything.
(Nice to have a shop available for extra lives and full magic potions.)

Unsure how the game will continue from here, it can get a bit repetitive doing all levels in a world all in a row but so far it's been pretty fun, took a break about two levels into the second world though.
(Can save even in those levels via the enter key but it will reset that levels progress if done and you return to the village or world map, not too much of a hindrance.)

Well, beat half of it - won't bother occupying myself with the other half. Looks OK, but it's bluntly repetitive. Not much else can be asked of that type of game anyway. Very Happy

Yeah was also on my mind, maybe it's been way too long since I played Arkanoid or it's clones
Quite fun that to this date, small games like these can still entertain me and sometimes even more than some AAA titles. Smile

I'm exactly the same, mate. Small "casual" games like this, or "Build-a-Lot" etc, are my guilty pleasure and when I'm feeling burnt out on AAA.. I go play those. It's surprising how much time you can sink into them Smile

The last world was tough if I recall correctly, the rest was pretty easy for me.

Fantastic little time waster. Took me around 15 hours. Smile
