I'm waiting for the PC version, it shouldn't suffer from any framerate problems if your PC is up to spec.

I can't get it to work from a dvdr at all. It just hangs at the Evox loading screen. It works fine from my hdd however.
After playing it for almost an hour despite the minor framerate issues, which I can quite easily overlook, I would say this is a slightly above average game in my opinion. I have just left the main screen running and I have to say the music is awesome and it gives the game a great cinematic feel to it. Kinda reminds me of the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within movie soundtrack.

So you've finished the first driving section? Are you in the city?
It's not long after that, as soon as you complete the city area, and manage to escape you get taught by the benevolent aliens you met at the start.
Also, once this happens, pratice jumping and dodging alot, you learn the more you use an ability, so after you've used dodging for quite a bit you learn slo-mo dodging, then cartwheeling, then maxpayne style forwards and backwards dodges, super jumps and by using melee you learn neck breaks, drop kicks etc.
Not to mention the god powers, although i've only learnt telekinesis at the moment, it functions like an enhanced version of Psi-ops. You can even lift multiple enemies at the same time.

Damn i'm absolutely loving this game, the action is so stylish, the story is really cool too. I like the way the developers aren't afraid to kill off any character.
There is one part where someone close to you get killed, after you've just been working together with them for a while. This really pisses your main character off, and his powers increase tremendously with his anger. He starts yelling "COME ON!" when the alien guys drop down and they're all shitting themselves. I almost wanted to yell 'come on' myself as I ripped them apart. Very satisfying.
The powers you get also add quite a degree of strategy, depending on how developed you've made them. For example, there was lazer grid nearby, so I used telekinesis to throw bad guys into it, a tank was bombarding me so I used shields to deflect the shots back, there was a guy with a shield so I used super speed to run behind him and break his neck, I got surrounded so I super jumped (looks really cool) into the air and unloaded onto all of them and so on.

Actually got to admit I was rather underwhelmed with the beginning, but it just gets better and better.
One level has you running around a ship as it falls apart. It gives you those type of moments where you think "phew, just made it".
Maybe it's not your type of game nailbiter, but it's worth another try i'd say.

I really want to like this game... but every time I start enjoying it, the framerate does a really good job killing it again. I don't understand why the framerate is so bad, when the game doesn't even look very good at all!

One of the best games i've played for both PC and Xbox...
Have brought it now... Simply love it.
For once a game with very good story and very nice gameplay.

ok heres what ya do
Replace Advent Risings default.ini with this one.
The default.ini is the Unreal engines configuration file.
3 instances of "MinDesiredFrameRate=30.000000" change to 60.
{2 where 35 in mine so I changed to 60}
"UseXBoxFSAA=False Mustard - turn this on if we have enough mem" is now set to True
works great for me know more studder, couldn't play before

That ini fix doesn't do anything for me... I think that might work only with the PC version.
