Bloody hell, the graphics are gorgeous even on the 360! The game looks amazing and it plays amazing as well. I'm really chuffed.

Hey Epsilon, if you could answer this, what - except different universe - made you like New Vegas those 10% more than Skyrim?

A visual comparison between Skyrim and Oblivion. |
What a shitty comparison. I really dislike when they dig up the crappiest screens they can find, and compare it to the best screens they can possibly find. Not saying Oblivion looks better but they could've made a serious effort instead, would at least be a little more interesting.

Better writing/dialogue coupled with a higher degree of choices and consequences and areas of the game actually having monsters that were so far out of your league that if you entered them you'd be running for your life.
It was just a more "traditional" pc game I suppose.
Lesbomancy? theres necromancy spells in there.

You'll RARELY find press leaks on the PC, for the simple case that the majority of the time these games are watermarked and can be traced back. Press leaks on the 360/PS3 are easier to come by as they're just promo disks.

Obviously I will try to respect the opinion of the people who will say this is the 'greatest game' they've ever played.
If they never played any of the classics from the nineties or the few good ones from this millenium, I would be inclined to be believe them.
Where would I put it on the RPG scale though? not entirely sure, it's not really an rpg in the traditional sense;Fallout, Arcanum, Baldurs Gate etc.
But it's a great sandbox that you can play in and thats certainly fun and you will get immersed in the world and time will suddenly pass very quickly, it's certainly one of the best recent games thats branded as an RPG and can't really be compared with games like Dragon Age 2 which in comparison seems to be made by a bunch of 13 year olds.
The Witcher 2 is definitely better RPG than this, is it more fun and is it a better game? maybe not, but it's a better RPG, at the end of the day though you're playing a game to have fun, but I wouldn't be without the experience that was or is The Witcher 2, even if I played Skyrim first I would go back and play The Witcher 2.

Wouldn't you agree though that you can't really compare the two? I mean, for one, Witcher 2 isn't really open-world, it's just large areas limited by boundaries. You can never reach that gorgeous mountain backdrop in the distance, you can't go off the main path towards a totally different area, your freedom is very limited in other words.
And for the second matter. Can you really consider The Witcher 2 an RPG in the true sense of the word? Character customization is close to non-existant. No matter how you "spec" you're still going to be fighting with a sword and traps. You can't be a mage, then a rogue, then a warrior and so on.
I personally feel that nothing can come close to Elder Scrolls when you want an immersive RPG experience.

Since it doesn't seem like Super Hide IP either works with Steam or has an australian server, anyone know of any trustworthy VPNs? Free or paid.

Well I've got $38 in my PP account atm, so that can stay there until RUS/notRUS confirmation is given on the Skyrim keys.

I'm always a little bit shocked by a response like this. As much as I enjoyed Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, KOTOR, etc., I don't think I'd ever consider the experiences found in those games to be "immersive." Further, so many of the games that my fellow PC gamers consider to be "the best RPG evar kekekeke", I find hard to really call an RPG, because so many of them are party micro-management simulators.
Even in newer games with less party-centric approaches, it seems like a very specific character is forced on the player. The Witcher is a perfect example of this problem: A game that trots out the most tired of all literary tropes (hurr durr amnesia), yet still fails completely to allow the player to truly "own" the protagonist.
I know that my opinion in this respect is colored by having a lot of paper and dice roleplaying experience. And that's why I wouldn't go around laughing in people's faces for not agreeing with me -- Because I know my opinion isn't the end all and be all.
For my money, The Elder Scrolls is kind of like an "adventuring simulator." Morrowind was definitely the best adventure simulator in the series so far (I haven't played Skyrim yet, but I doubt it will live up to Morrowind in that respect): The graphics were good enough to immerse the player in the game world (unlike earlier games in the series), and you had to actually put a certain degree of effort into finding places/dungeons/towns (unlike the herp derp compass marker style in the newer games).
I wouldn't say that it's really a great RPG series, but I can see why someone would think that.
