Getting fed up with how 4/5 times, my accurate fire to the target's head takes 12-15 shots to put them down.

Apparently this game is all about spamming full auto.

Haha yeah, I've noticed that too...

I almost have to shoot people as much in the head as I'd shoot them in the torso. o.O

Make sure you completely close out all overlay software too, not just turn the individual overlays off. Also, set your vid card back to stock clocks yet? BF3 crashes for me if I OC my 5870.

This is bullshit. Closed all overlay and GPU overclocking programs. Disabled Origin while in game, updated punkbuster, using latest nvidia drivers. I also put everything back to stock, and still the same shit! Clearly its a driver issue of some sort. If my hardware was failing or unstable Id get BSOD or a random reboot

Hmm, seems like Im not the only one http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/495/7657954.page

The game runs fucking beautifully 120fps with nice ping, no stutter or anything. Just crashes back to battlelog all of a sudden after like 5 minutes of playing

Honestly BF3 isn't fun for me atm, too many cheap kills and idiots running around.

I started playing on the 25th, it's been almost two weeks and I've only played for about 19 hours.

Counter-Strke on the other hand, in a little over a week I've played for over 30 hours and this was a game I picked up again just to pass time until BF3...Neutral

Maybe I'll leave it be until Back to Karkand is released, then play with my buddy's who's buying it in December.

yeah im really not enjoying it, i get killed 90% of the time by something or somone that i didnt/couldnt see. other 10% i get owned by a sniper who just one shots me standing up after i almost for 2 seconds shoot at his body from about 10 meters distance. i simply feel there is no gameplay in this game, its just one huge gimmick based game, basicly its telling me to start playing sniper ( which i refuse to ) and sit in a corner waiting for people to walk by.....

I very rarely get one shotted by snipers in this game...they just dont seem to be a problem. I take potshots all the time but zig zagging will save me 99% of the time.

Also you will ahve to do some camping at some point in BF3. Defending capture points/comm stations is essentially camping. You need to be able to do it to be successful.

I never play on normal servers. It just doesn't feel like a military shooter when you have to pump 3 clips into someone before they die. If you find yourself dying a lot don't respawn on top of the enemy. Think and be smart. Don't run and gun all the time. Find a flanking spot. Avoid where all the others are. Find an alternate route. You'd be suprised how many times you end up behind the sniper faggots. Don't let your impulse control drive you but stop up for a moment and reconsider.

For killing snipers I use the M249 with IRNV scope, bipod and flash suppressor. It absolutely rape snipers. That setup is so OP it almost makes me feel bad for using it at medium-long range engagements. You can even aim for the top of their bodies and send off small bursts for those headshots. On Damavand peak I've had like 20-30 kills to maybe 2 deaths. The IRNV scope is way overpowered. What I'm trying to say is think. If you can't beat them on reflexes then outsmart them.

Did you reboot your machine since disabling the overlay? The overlay might have bugged the video driver somehow. Just trying to help. I sympathize.

Yup tried reboot after restoring everything to default. Nothing is working. In single player I can play for much longer but still crashes to desktop in SP as well

Alright. Seems to me there's something misconfigured or broken with your system. Not sure what. Put your RAM back to default timings also? Considered that -maybe- your mobo, CPU or GPU is slightly damaged from overclocking? BF3 seems to be sensitive to this. Keep trying, it's probably something you've forgotten. Otherwise maybe an upcoming patch or driver will fix it.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with my hardware. I almost certain its a driver issue thats conflicting with something else because the same thing occurs with EVERYTHING at stock speeds. Again, I dont get any BSODS or random reboots which ususally occur when a power supply is faulty. Unstable ram also causes BSODS and reboots. I just get a crash to desktop/battlelog

Could it be because I changed some of the BF3 registry settings to turn the game from Russian to English?

I beat and outsmart them but the bullets simply don't do the damage you'd expect them to.

I got fed up with how many rounds from a SMG/Carbine/Assault Rifle it takes to down them so I switched to shotgun and raped them. Cool Face

Yes maybe Rus to Eng could be it. If you are up to it, reinstall in Russian and play it that way and see if it still crashes. Unstable or bad RAM can certainly cause a CTD with no BSOD. Run a thorough Memtest86+.

I've used the Rus to English thingy too and it's working fine here now. However, it was messed up in the beginning. Game would close and battlelog would just say 'Disconnected from server'. Tried updating punkbuster manually and stuff but that wouldn't work either. Eventually downloaded some updated punkbuster files that someone had put up in this thread( I think), then it finally started working.

Kinda doubt it's using punkbuster for singleplayer though, so yeah, maybe it is something else. Maybe go through the registry changes for the language again? I remember I actually used two different instructions, since the first one I found was missing one of the changes it needed.

Glad you found the issue. I use realtek here with no problems. I update my realtek drivers often. I keep my sample rate at 44khz/24bit.

Ive had sound driver problems before but that was long long ago back in 2004 when i used to play Raven Shield. My game would crash every time the noise of a grenade went off. After updating sound driver, never saw the issue ever again.

For now, I will just play with no sound. Too lazy to update sound driver at 2:30am Very Happy

Designating targets like the SOFLAM. Basically a tank with a guy doing the targets and the main gunner using guided shells can take down choppers/planes etc in 1 shot and flares don't help.

I wonder why they bothered adding air vehicles in this game lol.

Punkbuster disabled kick for violationsat the moment, so whatever reason it is you get kicked, its not punkbuster (seen this on my server in the punkbuster logs)

and for the heroes who "have to spam 1-3 clips into someone to kill them"

Learn to motherfucking aim and shoot lol.

PS : sub MG's usually take 5-6 hits, Assault Rifles 3-4, Pistols 4, Rifles 2 hits. (long range ads 1 usually). NON headshots.

Finally managed to eliminate the echoes from the sound.

this is what i did by researching in google:

1 - launch the game
2 - press alt tab
3 - open task manager
4 - then in processes right click bf3.exe
5 - set affinity to cpu0 ONLY

the game now works

anyway it is not bad but i believe COD MW3 is much much better

cheers
Rob
