I think there is at least one huge spider in the main "path" (the dungeon that was shown in that quakecon demo)... so no, i dont think they can be avoided Sad

Thanks for the answers.

So if I understand correctly, you have

3 main stats, health, mana, stamina

14 skills + about 8 perks to each skill ( about 122 perks then?)

The 14 skills level up by use (like jumping around for Acrobatic skill)

Additionally you get XP that you invest in the 122x5=610 perk-levels and the main stats.

Is that about correct?

No but close Wink , when you level up, though xp, you get first a choice of increasing your Magic, Health or Stamina. Then you get one perk point you can use to increase one of the skills(Different magic skills, One handed weapons, Heavy armour, etc..). Each skill have different sub-skills where you depending on your stats can upgrade. For example the one handed has a perk that increase the damage output which can be upgraded to level 5. First level gives you a 20% damage increase in one handed weapons. Second level gives you 40%.
Some of the perks of each skill have a requirement, like you have to have 40 in one handed weapons.

I'm not normally scared of spiders, but if i had to deal with them in real life i'll be running screaming like a little girl.

So the auto-level-up of the skills only gives you the necessary stats for being able to level up the specific perks of that skill? That means, there is no difference between having like 35 or 39 in a specific skill until you reach 40 as the requirment for leveling up a perk?

It sounds pretty confusing like this, but it will become clear once I can play the game obviously.

I just hope it is not too dumbed down. I like upping my skills through training. Such as beeing able to creat specific training spells.

Not sure if you stats are only used as requirements for upgrading your perks. Will investigate when my kid is tucked in.

I'd never even thought of spiders getting in the way of people playing.

The only time I've ever been scared enough not to (replay) a game is the damn haunted hotel in Vampire:Bloodlines. I can't replay that game because I don't feel like doing that mission EVER AGAIN. The only reason I made it through was because I knew I'd have to play it again to go beyond it and couldn't stand the thought of that.

(EDIT):
