a linux live-cd [parted magic]
i just love linux for that. It s easy and straightforward to use and setup for network.
Anybody knows if there is a way to boot from usb drives with a boot-manager that takes .iso files?

and before anybody says "but windows has live-cds too": yes, but they are clumsy to use, slow to startup and feel castrated in comparison.
edit: and yes, i know, linux used to be like that as well in the past

well, i m not talking about distros. Just a way to boot different isos from a usb drive. I ve found some solutions, but at the moment i m fine with the live-cds i have as it is. Maybe before the next disaster strikes, or when i want to give linux another try as an alternative i ll go down that route again.

yeah, i like ubuntu. But i m looking more for a bootloader that can load several different isos. Like this for example: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/
i ll have a look at it again, after i have finished backing up data and re-installing win7
