Seems to be crashing on startup for people that don't have atleast a quad-core cpu. Optimized indeed! Rolling Eyes

Since the game is crashing for me I did a little debugging to see what was causing the crash, and it appears to lead into core detection, when less than 4 cores are detected it runs some code that _always_ crashes.

Hahahaha, awesome. Ooooh.. that means Skidrow must have cracked it themselves, since there wasn't a P2P crack to steal! Cool Face

If you read the entire thread you'll find out it has nothing to do with the amount of cores one has as it crashes (or works fine) for both dual/quad core users.

I can't believe SKIDROW released the game before anyone else. Did they kidnap Ali or some Theta's member? Laughing

Works just fine here I'll play it tomorrow though. It's visually very pretty, was absolutely built for a controller (the game even helpfully tells you which one Laughing) and feels nice and smooth. Also there's a pretty large game map to explore, though I'm not sure if that's the ONLY map or whether there's more in the game.

1. Skidrow's version comes with Gordon Freeman and his buggy.
2. You can change the resolution, the anti-aliasing level and toggle v-sync. That's it.

Delayed for "optimisation" my fucking arse. Sega are a scummy company and Avalanche are just as bad for bending over and taking it.

 Spoiler:

Oh and there's black borders >_>

Despite the gripes, of which they are - truth be told - hilariously superficial and picky, the game is friggin' awesome. Definitely every bit as good as I thought/hoped/expected. I feel bad that Avalanche loses my money... I guess in the future they should pick a better publisher. Well done Sega.

I'm not sure, I've not tried it. Doubtful given the Steam nature of the game, but I suppose Greenluma might work if you change the appid.

Fun little game, but it's a complete console port. There isn't even a mouse cursor in the main menu.

Does it have a LAN option? What about 2 player offline co-op?

Aww bugger. This game requires DX10 and consequently either Vista or Windows 7. No playing for me then since I'm still on XP.

I bought it, had the black screen problem. A guy named Gibbed on Steam posted some kind of dll wrapper that tricks it into thinking you have 3 cores and with that it plays perfectly for me. I have a E5200 dual core.

So some of the problems -are- due to not having a quad core or better.

But then some people with quad cores are still having trouble, so multiple issues obviously.

I believe it has 2 player split screen co op.

I bought from GMG and also got Gordon, so I think all PC versions have Gordon.

It propably works only with with the chosen one pad that is - xbox pad. The controls with keyboard and mouse are fucked up. They didn't even bother to do it right.

EDIT: Ok you can change the steering in options. Tank steering pffff.

Actually tank steering is proper for me but I didn't get it the first time. Silly me Smile
Anyway both ways are borked. Tank steering is good for travelling but in combat you are too focused on firing that you won't notice when your car has hit something and is travelling in random direction now.

There was a earlier steam unlocked ALI213 release though Skidrow likely have their own methods for acquiring the games they release. Smile
(And cracking them since the 213 release is just the files.)

Controller works fine as long as its a 360 pad or an emulated 360 pad.

I use an old wireless sixaxis with a $1.29 bluetooth dongle, motioninjoy drivers and 360 emulation. works great.

If you have some other gamepad try x360ce controlleremulator.
