pfft dig out an old 120hz crt monitor and see what true 120 frames/second on your display is like.
back in the crt days 85hz was nice and what most monitors did but anything above 100 seemed proper solid to look at and not like someone was flashing a peice of paper 85 times a second infront of your eyes.
back in those techs the screen would physically flash hz/second though modern monitors dont do it

yea but its better than fraps and costs nothing it has more options than fraps aswell so you can reduce the quality a bit and not bring your system to its knees

Also.. I can't help but see a lot of the CryEngine in BF3. I almost want to say Dice licensed it and just added the frostbite destruction to it..
all games are using directx features at the end of the day so they are going to look fairly similar especially if they are trying to be as realistic as allowed by hardware constraints.
most games are really only different visually because of the artistic aproach taken

i have to say that this game is awesome!!! i play yesterday randomly some mp game/map and did´t realize that the map is so f***in huge. :O
and my performance is 40-60 fps on all ultra. there is some micro stutters but that dosent mind me at all.

Somehow it feels that there is so little destruction in this Frostbite 2. Everything feels so static. Was trying to blow up walls with bazooka and like 50% of walls didnt go down ;< Maybe it was just the map i was playing (dont remember what it was). Well need to see more, havent really had much time to play at online. Also there is annoying delay on everything what gets destroyed, even in SP.
Overall, I'm really loving it. I wish the movement and engine were a little more "smooth", as it still has a bit of the clunky feel that dates all the way back to BF 1942, but the graphics are amazing and the physics are top notch. The engine has definitely improved since BC2 and is certainly a worthy sequel and worth the wait. I do wish the movement was a bit more smooth like the COD games, but honestly, I have zero interest in MW3, other than to maybe download it for the single player.
This is definitely the best shooter since MW and probably the best one yet. It's not quite perfect, but no doubt this game is fuck'n awesome. There is some major replay value as well, since getting all the unlocks and such is going to take forever. The level up process is a bit slow, but DICE did a much better job with BF3 than BC2, which was pretty damn good IMO.
I'd give it about a 9.5 out of 10. If the movement was a bit cleaner and the odd issues like clipping and getting stuck were not there, it would easily be a perfect 10. None the less, if you were on the fence about buying it for some odd reason, the game does not disappoint. I'm sure my friends and I will be playing this game for a long time to come. It's so good in fact, MW3 looks like shit compared to BF3. Kudos to DICE for giving us the best BF experience yet!
I really don't like the single player tbh. I though cod games were heavily scripted but this game takes it to all new level. It's basically a movie with interactive scenes. It represents everything i hate about modern games gameplay. And since i don't like the multiplayer community in these games (aka 12y old kids), the game is not for me.

I've clearly noticed microstuttering while flying on the f18 mission even though the frame rate was good. As someone suggested pages ago disabling hyperthreading is the way, no more stuttering and even a minimal fps gain. Playing everything on ultra @1080p with i7-2600k@4,5Ghz and 6970 (rage drivers) game is pure awesomeness, imho best fps ever (and ive played all of them). Btw buygaycdgames...

I want to make some videos too but I want FPS to be visible. And fraps limits the fps to whatever it records at. So by default when I record with fraps, fps stays locked at 30fps (the cinematic experience fps )
