dont think so, u have to solder a few wires to read out the nand and then solder the glitcher board. but anyhow nobody knows yet if the glitcher board maybe must be updated in the future. but i dont think so

I don't think the board itself needs to be updated... the hacked kernel/dash will need update, but if I understand the matter correctly that can be easily done from a usb stick... or am I wrong?

Afaik you can update - dash, fds, etc - via usb or ftp. Don't know about the booter though, maybe someone with a JTAG or RGH can enlighten us on that.

Needs to do more than just run Xell, its great as a proof of concept but so far its just a novelty..
I don't mean that in a demeaning way, there's some seriously good IQ in this mod, but no one will shout about it until it performs like a jtag or the old Xbox exploit.

Aye, they're exactly the same (functionality wise, of course) so anyone wanting to scrap their JTAG for a RGH would do so only if they wanted a more recent machine that is less likely to die on them. Otherwise it's pretty useless trading a functional JTAG for a RGH.

Wouldn't mind having this for a slim tbh, but it's only the exterior and i won't waste alot of money just for that. I have a jasper 256mb JTAG now and it works perfectly, and thats all that matters.

I'm not sure yet, to be honest, my soldering skills leave quite a lot to be desired. That and I'd still have to buy the RGH board (CoolRunner or Matrix) AND a soldering iron/solder. I might just wait and see if the store Deelix bought his JTAG from offers installation ... or simply take my 360 back to England with me when I go back in December, then have a local store install it for me.

Only thing that sucks with the Jtag is that it's so easy to completely fuck up. Deelix installed dash launch once and the Jtag stopped working so he had to send it back, i managed to party install a update (very noobish of me, but i thought it was something i had to do) and the last one i updated with wrong smc as Fairexchance didn't tell me what the fuck to do and i had to guess... And i chose original smc config, and that also fucked it up. I would love to know how to program the Jtag myself, but it looks so advanced so i haven't really studied it so to say.

Can any one confirm that new coolrunner included the nand reading writing ability. Cause reading nand from LPT is nightmare. Its takes 20 min to read a 16mb nand back in Jtag days. And also I dont have USB SPI device to read the nand through USB.

I'll probably end up doing it myself, since it's too expensive to have someone do it for me over here.

Thanks for posting this tutorial. I just got through ordering the parts I need to do this mod.
I jtagged a xenon I had lying around about 2yrs ago and it was a learning experience all the way but I got it done and it worked flawlessly. I am looking to replace this console with a falcon I have with the RGH. I like the xenon jtag but because it doesn't have HDMI and all my other consoles do (PS3 & Slim 360) I'd like to upgrade my jtag to newer hardware so to speak. The xenon runs component cables and I can tell a difference.
With the guide posted above, have any of the steps changed or can any of them be removed..? When the first tutorial came out we did not have a hacked dashboard yet. So if I follow this guide, will I have a RGH console booting with a hacked dashboard by the time I'm done or are there extra steps involved in this process..?

I personally use either ISO2GOD (v1.3.6 has XGD3 support) or Xbox Backup Creator (v2.9 or later)
Hope this helps!
