seems like a bad idea for their new company to release a steaming pile of cow doodoo for their first title

It's completely stand-alone, can import Arcania saves but it's rather minor other than hero statistics as I've understood it.

It's not so much that Arcania was a bad or not a enjoyably game. it's more that it's not what it could/should have been.

Is this game as good as what's that game by Oblivion? Uhm, Dragon Age?

You have a story here, so it's indeed a better RPG.

Wonder how long the game is, this is barely 3.5 GB but Arcania itself was nearly 10 GB, still that above post hinted at it being quite short though I also don't find it surprising, only one region here as far as I am aware, probably would have been best to add to the game but I suppose a stand-alone release also works.
(Wonder what new content will be available as well, might feel like a larger DLC instead of a expansion pack perhaps, heh.)
I'll test it out later (Busy with other stuff currently.) though I imagine if people didn't like Arcania this won't really change much.
(Still it'll be fun to finally reach that city and backside of the island.)
EDIT: Actually I'll replay Arcania first then import a save.

How did i miss a d/l of the original game?
Is the original worth a d/l if you liked risen? It looks like one I wouldn't want to miss normally.
