we really forget how good we've got it though dont we - moaning about the cost of 2 whole blank discs instead of one for a game! Very Happy

but i know what you mean...how about just burning the main disc and trying the game out? if its crap (and no-one know yet, it could well be) then you've only used that 1 disc. if by some miracle its amazing then its probably worth burning the 2nd disc to get the HD textures.

the only games im really hyped for are MW3, Saints Row 3 and Skyrim. will wait and see what others say about this before doing anything.

That's what I'm planning to do. Get disc 2, play the game and if it's look completely unacceptable, then might get the first disc. I'm also concerned about the performance of Frostbite 2 engine. Need for Speed: The Run demo seemed to really struggle on the 360. Not sure how this game will fare. Sad

disc1 is just about uploaded on usenet. guess another 3-4 hours for disc2

Thanks scheduling disc 2 now also I saw some pic that the disc 2 content is not more than 1.45gb true? Since only have 13.9 gb with hdd

More important, are the CIV checks ok for a non new burner version..

ie a truncated burn...

Can't get my new drive till next week so if I can play it now I'll throw the disks at it..

ok just played a little, i installed the hd content, didnt try without.
the game looks pretty good. Cant complain at all. Only problem i got is that the audio is delayed by some ms at some times, not everything, just some effects, i.e. i had a quicktime event with punching and the punch sound came about a 200ms late. Gunfire and explosions where ok though. Im installing the whole disc right now to see if thats it.
Only about 20 minutes in but does not seem dull at all right now. You have to be careful in firefights and use cover when someones shooting at you, but i wouldnt call that dull Wink Some pretty cool stuff already happened in these first few mins.
Will get back as soon as i have played some more
