Orcs Must Die is better than this IMO. I never was a huge fan of coop either, I'd rather play the game at my own pace. I think the only coop I enjoyed was in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and that was only because the pace of the game itself was quite slow.

OMD is better for SP - can't compare MP of course but I agree with the idea that every TD game with a roaming character does NOT have to have co-op. Even though devs say it won't happen with OMD ppl still wank off and fantasise that it might come if enough ask for it. And then they talk about this and Sanctum having co-op - neither of which play anything like OMD - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr boring bastards - play them all ffs - there's room for all these games but stfu if a SP game doesn't have co-op.

/rant over - I'm a bit tired today Cool

They just released it. Cool Face

Dungeon.Defenders.v7.0.multi5.retail.READ.NFO-THETA

Seems like they included 3 DLCs too. Well done.

I got two DLC sets with my Steam purchase;

Advanced Technology Pack
Elite Gear Pack

I presume those pertain to this;

Quote:

Steam Exclusive Offer

The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device for the Huntress hero class. Constantly consuming energy when active, this device allows it’s user to open portals from one location to another and can be used to greatly extend a trap’s range, quickly teleport across the map, or confound enemies!

Four Team Fortress 2 Familiars:

The Heavy: Uses his Gatling gun to shoot at enemies from afar.
The Engineer: Repairs groups of nearby towers while you’re on the offensive.
The Medic: Heals a group of nearby allies amidst battle.
The Pyro: Uses a flame-thrower to set your foes on fire.

The game can be set to use GameSpy, so MP should be possible.

So how is it? I'm very much on the edge on this one. Could use a silly new coop game. Is there a lot of replay value? Or am I gonna hit the lvl cap within a week? Is it challenging?

even if you hit the cap i'd imagine youll have something to do. this game isn't easy, played on a server earlier with one of the later waves having nearly 900 enemies...

Played for about 3 hours straight with a few friends. With the loot and different gamemodes, I'd say the replay value's higher than your standard TD.

And yes, it does get quite challenging. And we only played on medium difficulty.

You should try some of the challenge modes. Some of them are pretty crazy.

this is an enjoyable game. playing monk, dropping a heaping mass of auras that slow and do massive dmg every second and walking off is pretty great

/e fuck it. playing ranked is absofuckinglutely pointless because their servers suck dick. it'll drop you every other wave, won't be able to complete more than 2 waves until it drops you to menu and says "dropped from trendynet"

fuck you! so goddamn annoying

Apparently one of the recent patches made timeouts a bit more forgiving. So people shouldn't drop from the game as much now.

Those two patches for anyone wondering, it updated around 75 MB so it's pretty light. Smile

EDIT: Also seems the default config files can be used to tweak the game a little bit.

I feel exactly the opposite. I found OMD incredibly dull.

Been having a lot of fun playing this with three friends. Gets extremely difficult on the harder settings. Also, I'm a loot whore.
