As long gameplay is nice and you can host a dedicated server a linux box I am happy. Any specs of what is needed in a Linux Dedicated server?

- Large (100+) Player maps/servers gone.. max is 64
- Rappelling ropes gone
- Chopper blades = Not solid.. so u can crash into buildings etc..
- Dont lose acuracy when shot
- Hit boxes have not been improved
- Cant move aircraft carrirers
- The game will NOT support widescreen
- I guess the game wont support 1280x1024 again
- "Lazer designator" was taken out because it was too "Confusing for the player"
Alot of those things you might think "ok fair enuff" but the reasons they gave were just bullshit.... eg the player limit... the reasons they gave were "It was not fun" "Not enought vechiles for everyone"..... Joint operations do it fine.. and they have 120player limits....
Im sure i will love the game.. but they are so obviously "Dumbing down" the game... like i said.. im sure mods will own this game...

Hmmmm little stupid of the too constantly boast about the HUGE maps and the HUGE player limit, and later tell us they actually won't put that in. The reason they gave is also bullshit, I think it was just to laggy with 100+ players.
But all that doesn't matter if they would just give us the demo now.

Probably a good thing, gives people more of a chance at an aircraft or otherwise. Unless they crowded the maps with said mechanicals. Which would be equally stupid.
- Rappelling ropes gone
Bad, Spec For use ropes.
- Chopper blades = Not solid.. so u can crash into buildings etc..
Good, I would rather see the blades come off if they strike something, unless you mean they can actually hit buildings and nothing will happen which is bad.
- Dont lose acuracy when shot
Awful, I would even like to see a loss in accuracy with a close miss ala AA.
- Hit boxes have not been improved
I never had a problem with the old hit boxes at distance
- Cant move aircraft carrirers
Good, it will stop a lot of griefing, imagine some prat gets one and sails off into the horizon.
- The game will NOT support widescreen
No problem for me. I always play fullscreen anyway.
- I guess the game wont support 1280x1024 again
Can't really comment on this one until I get my new card running. I do normally play 1024-768 anyway.
- "Lazer designator" was taken out because it was too "Confusing for the player"
Depends how they were implimented. I would rather see a nice new toy in the game of course.

I rather have game with few features but that plays out GOOD
than a game with zillions of features that plays out like CRAP.
But I wanted destructable terrain.
Even if I see the problem with players totally destroying the map.

I thought the first part sucked and the second will probably suck unless they've made decent infantry combat....

I kinda liked the infantry combat in BF1942 and BFV (much better compared to Counterstrike anyway).
Sure, the models felt kinda "blocky" if you will, but the gun/bullet/damage dynamics I think were great.
Following comparison uses BFV, as I haven't played BF1942 in a long time:
BF: In regards to the sniper rifles, even if you had your crosshair directly over someones head, you had to wait a moment to steady out your aim. Just as you would do in real life. The bullet DOES NOT go directly where the fuckin crosshair points. Anyone who's fired a rifle in real life knows that.
CS: In regards to the sniper rifles, the bullet goes EXACTLY where the crosshair is pointed, no matter if you are walking, running, crouching, standing, or fucking jumping. Yea, ok. That ehrm, makes a lotta sense. Maybe Valve should start producing rifle scopes for the military?
BF: Crouching/proning in combination with 1-2-3 round bursts, while leading the target, enables you to kill from a great distance. ~150 meters or so.
CS: Crouching gets you insta headshot, whether the guy was aiming or not. Not to mention that there is no map on CS with that kinda distance anyway.
BF: Bullet deviation/spread when using fullly automatic generally feels well thought out. You cannot spray and manage to kill a target unless you are within ~20 meters or so. It does effectivley kill them if you are in close proximity however, as well it should.
CS: The only game I've ever played where a fully loaded 30 round magazine, pointed in the chest/stomach of someone less than a foot away, managed to MISS every single round when sprayed. Man, I didn't know bullets could take 90 degree turns?
BF: Hitboxes. When I am for the upper torso, use 2-3 round bursts in combination with leading, I am guarenteed a kill within 1-3 successful hits, no matter the distance.
CS: Hitboxes. Whenever I score a headshot, my burst was nowhere near the head/neck region. In fact, I was most likely on level with the lower torso/legs when the burst fired. Not to mention, some "fire arms" have the ability to shoot your target, 5-6 times, and still only yield 95-99% damage. Ok, so add that to our checklist: Valve makes the rifle scopes, but stay away from the actual firearms/bullet manufacturing.
What baffles me, in all honesty, is how a game like CS can attract so much praise, such a large community, and be considered a test of skill, whereas the BF series (much better in all aspects, even graphics if you compare it to the original CS/HL engine), is largely ignored. Such a shame
Hopefully they keep kinda the same "feel" to it in regards to the damage model/bullet deviation as in the previous installments though. I know its gonna be fast pace and modern (and I look forward to that), just hoping it doesn't turn into another Counterstrike.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I don't agree BF was largely ignored. It was massive when it first came out. It set a new standard for all other "many people multiplayer FPS to achieve". And it still has a massive community with great mods like Forgotten Hope.
The reason CS is played so much is becuase most people on the planet are pretty dumb.

Nope you try running with an awp or scout and it will not go exactly where u want and crouching does make a difference

well if no map covers that distance how can you compare? and i'd like to see noobs get HS with a pistol or any gun besides a sniper really even the distance of cs_assault.

i've never experienced this in my years you must just be really shit.
BF: Hitboxes. When I am for the upper torso, use 2-3 round bursts in combination with leading, I am guarenteed a kill within 1-3 successful hits, no matter the distance.

Well a single shot to the hand is hardly going to kill you is it? it takes like 1 shot to the head and 3 to the chest to kill some1. if you aim for the neck and burst you are more likely to kill them yes. And if you shoot at the legs and hit the head i wanna play your version it sounds much easier

Well CS got it's fame from being clever, to be good you cant just rely on quick reactions.

Em LOL?!? "Well CS got it's fame from being clever, to be good you cant just rely on quick reactions."
CS got its fame from being clever? hahahahahhaahahahahhaahha haaaaah!!
Excuse me but, it is the exact opposite, there is no "cleverness" in CS, there is no tactics in which route to take or which spot to camp, its all the same every time you play a map.
The only thing that matters is reaction time and Action time (the time it takes for your hand to move the mouse so you get a good clean shot).
BTW immunity, i agree on everything you have written, especially about the videos, i think alot about that when watching gameplay videos, no matter the game. The people playing seem really idiotic in terms of game experience, even OFFICIAL trailers have plenty a scenes where the player actually miss on purpose etc, just looks plain stupid.
I hate everything that is dumbing down stuff, dumbing down games, dumbing down movies (hollywood anyone?), dumbing down everything!
Its just so dumb and/or incapable people can feel smart and capable.
I say STOP treating dumb people with a cotton asswiper. START forcing them to learn instead!!
Instead of having a game where a feature like laser designators etc are cut out because the general population of this planet are too stupid to use one or even to learn to use one, the developing community should do stuff as they are supposed to be done, and force the dumb general public to grow smarter!
Why tend to dumb people instead of making them smarter? I dont get it..
It's the same with the media, "ooh sugar is BAAAD, our coca cola light uses no REAL sugar!!", no, but it doesnt do much difference, what do you think gives the sweet taste, salt?

100% Agree
Dumb ppl are the reason why the m60 was a sniper gatling at BF:V Release - just to make the feel cool and skilled.

Its been like that FOREVER. Every online retailer I've checked has that same deal. Unfortunatley, its one of those cheapo $20 logitech ones (don't get me wrong, Logitech makes great products, but its really lacking in comparison to the higher priced ones).
Personally, I'd suggest shellin out some cash and going for a :
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106381
Has a USB OR standard connector, comfortable as hell, and sounds good.
Just a suggestion, since VOIP seems to be the new hot thing, might as well be comfortable and get a decent quality one
