So, bored at home, i told to myself, lets have some fun with Battlefield 2142. A Game which i bought 4+ years ago on .. EA DM ? EA Link ? Whatever Origin it was back then.
I download and install and all fine, but oh well, it wont start. Seems that my origin account was never converted to a EA Account. So lets see how chat support was unable to help me with what seems to be a little problem :

"Le Me": it asks me for the EA account, so i tried both, my EA Account (myea@account.gov) and my Origin account (myorigin@email.org)
"Le Me": which is amusing enough, since i start the game from INSIDE origin, which alredy requires me to LOGIN ..

"Le Me": origin isnt as user friendly as you may think it is lol
Jason: I would suggest that you try temporarily disabling any firewalls you have running on your system: - • Software firewalls can simply be turned off, usually by right clicking on the icons near your clock and selecting "Close" or "Exit". • Hardware firewalls should be bypassed by going from the computer directly to your modem, skipping any router you may have.

"Le Me": i cant use it to log in to origin, cant use it to recover pw from origin, cant use it to launch game

"Le Me": do you have the power or option to turn my ORIGIN account into a valid EA Account
"Le Me": because that is the problem, nothing else

"Le Me": i am logged in with my EA Master Account
"Le Me": this is NOT my origin account
"Le Me": my origin account is "myorigin@email.org"
"Le Me": which is not an EA account, but it should be
Jason: yes, The game is linked with myorigin@email.org
Jason: You need to login with this account.
"Le Me": again, thats not a valid EA account
"Le Me": i couldnt even use it to play the Battlefield 3 beta
"Le Me": i had to use myea@account.gov, because it refused to install on my ORIGIN account.
Jason: Battlefield 3 beta is on myea@account.gov
"Le Me": read again what i just wrote
"Le Me": then think about it
"Le Me": then answer
Jason: Okay
Jason: Please uninstall and reinstall the game once.
"Le Me": btw i am recording this whole conversation and will send it to your superior.
"Le Me": how will reinstalling the game fix this ? did YOU made any changes to my account ?
Jason: Please Clear the Cache of the Origin by following the below mentioned steps: 1. Select the Settings option 2. Click on the Delete All Game Installers option 3. Click on Accept to complete the process.

While i take it with a grain of humor, it still amazes me.
Anyway, i contacted another one of them and well, i have to reinstall the game now, since he told me he made some changes in my account. i will keep you posted

I'm surprised your managed to talk that long with support, they usually instantaneously close the session after the first bad answer. And no, they don't seems to know anything about their own system.

Oh and please stop with "le me" and everything starting with "le", I'm french and it don't make sense.

like in most every support, they probably have different levels of workers (higher level being more experienced/talented/helpful/less stupid)
of course, just asking for someone with a higher level never works, but after a certain amount of time, you might get transfered to someone that actually knows shit, so usually, the best thing to do is to answer their question with the best answer (yes, i'm rebooting my pc,...)

Did you guys know EA had put clausules like "EA can follow which sites you visit and send it to third parties without your permission", "EA can track illegaly downloaded games on your PC" and so on in the Origin EULA?

what scares me most is, that the second guy linked some FAQ and the error i get, one of them anyway, is related to the fact that im installing the game in the "4th" PC .... it actually says you can only install the game on 3 pc's .... (of course i only ever had it installed on 1 pc, but im a pc gamer and my system changed several times ...
so, install 3 times and no more ? wtf ?

According to the End User License Agreement, which can be found by opening Origin, highlighting your game and selecting Game Manual: "You may only have the game installed on three computers at any given time.
