As per my previous post.

Yeah, it's actually a i7 970 (left that out, sorry)
HIS Radeon 6950 @ 2GB
6GB Corsair Ram 8-8-8-24

Running everything @ stock speeds since I don't know a thing about OCing

So with ultra settings and 2x AA, I was running around with barely 20FPS, maybe cause I was @ 1920x1080? Anything under that res looks shitty since it's native...

I realize BF3 has pretty high requirement, but I though I had exceeded them. Even on high settings I was struggling to hold 30FPS. I wasn't overheating or anything either.

Was using the AMD Preview 2 Drivers found here: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU122AMDCat1110PreDriverV2.aspx

Not sure what to think here? I just upgraded my CPU and GPU for BF3, maybe I should get 12GB ram @ 3x 4GB? Don't even know if that would help honestly...

Either way, I guess I'll have to wait to see what the final version runs like now.

No, it's not the RAM, something else is fucked up. Let us know what it's like when retail hits, my system isn't all that different from yours. i5-760, Sapphire 6950 2GB, 8 GB DDR3-1600. Good for a steady 50 on ultra. Only difference is that I've got my CPU running at 4.2 GHz and I've got my 6950 unlocked to a 6970 (and matching clockspeeds). I was (and am) also running the exact same drivers.

When retail hits, I'll check what my performance is like with my CPU at stock speed. That'll be a comparison of quadcore w/o HT at 2.8 versus your hexacore w/ HT at 3.2. At any rate, you should be able to match my framerates, thanks to turbo mode on your CPU.

Well there MUST be something wrong there driverwise.
As i got at 1920x1080 on ultra around 25-40 fps (depending on what i was looking at and what happend around me ofc).
Donno how far the 970 is off the 2600k, but graphiccard wise you should be pulling more as mine is only a HD6870.

@Demize99 @repi are there any performance optimizations in the full game vs the beta? It's mainly CPU performance that I'm worried about.

Confused Question Confused
Maybe his PC is a zombie and is stealth encoding porn in background? This is too low fps for such rig. My Q6600 with 4850(modded to 4870) has 15-20fps.

New maps look nice, especially Tehran Highway and Damavand Peak.

The latter one sounds awesome, starting high up in the mountains and fighting downhill.

Imagine parachuting down under heavy enemy fire, sounds awesome.

BUT, the maps I'm most excited about are the remade BF2/1942 maps, Gulf of Oman, Karkand, Wake Island.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

The video has already been removed :/

edit: maybe I've found another one:

I agree though, even if these urban maps look good, they don't do justice to BF. We need moar vehicles Crying or Very sad

His point still stands though, since those maps seem a bit too small for some proper open combat with vehicles and all, imo.
