Man, am I only the only who hates this game? Along with IV and V.
I just can't get into new 3D interface, battles and everything. I want to play it but it's ruining whole experience for me!. Things, I like about HoMM was the simplicity of everything.
Thankfully, I didn't buy it

Does the Eduardo shit bug that gets him respawning with max army every time you kill him happen in every other mission? Cause if so i might as well just screw it, no point fighting invincible enemies with unlimited manpower.

You have to defeat both him and the castle in the same turn. Or just let him respawn and get the castle while he passes you.

Yeah did that, as in let him pass and defeated the castle but that seriously can't be intended can it?
Anyway another thing which i'm not sure why it happens maybe someone can clarify:
- after starting the necro campaign with that anastasya chick i took heroism but i cant cast it on any of my creatures, ghouls + skeles. Is there something like , it's a "holy" spell and can't be cast on undead.. cause i've been looking and i can't seem to find any info on the subject, the spell description doesn't show any limitations.

What is the deal with the lucky attacks? Seems like they never do any more damage than a regular attack.

HOMM5 was pretty damn good from my point of view, compared to IV and apparently VI, from what I've read here. V had good 3D, but the perspective itself barely changed: the world map was mechanically the same, and so were battles. And gameplay-wise, I don't remember HOMM3 being significantly simpler.

I don't particularly remember long loading times. But then again I played Tribes of the East most recently.
Maybe it was a bug/leak they fixed sometime after the vanilla game came out.

I think it's bugged in the tutorial campaign. I'm on the next one (undead), and whenever I strike a critical (lucky) it gets a few more kills then the mouse-over showed was the maximum.

What about the heroism thing Immunity? Can you cast those buffs on your undead troops?

You're forgetting the fact that your piddly 12 Sisters don't LAST long, as the enemy targets them with ranged/spells, since the AI is bollocksed. You can't use heal to resurrect the lost sisters because you can only use it twice per battle and the enemy takes out 3-4 Sisters per attack. Then I guess you didn't get hit with the "lovely" bug of enemy reinforcing themselves immediately without waiting the week that WE have to... or the fact that you only get 10 reinforcements per week. Or how about losing your discovered items/equipment after each mission?
Yeah, real "easy"  I finished it just fine, but that's because I'm awesome. The difficulty is still fucked regardless  |
Just stand the sentinel unit next to others (sister always) and there will be not much losses. |
Yep, this is why I went with "Tactics I" ability first  Damage is distributed among all adjusted Sentinels / Praetorians due to Shieldguard unit ability.
During first turn Flawless Assault is cast on range unit, next turn same unit gets Heroism
Loving the game so far, missed the pre-order bonuses though. Downloaded STEAM demo, plan was to play for a few hours, but played much, much longer  |

@russ80: Use spellbook, and look for teleport spell or something like that. I deleted demo, but haven't reached teleport stage at full version yet.

Very noticeable improvement over demo, AI uses Guardian Angel ability the proper way - for the offense, to debuff retaliate from target so other units can gang bang it

Uhm, I haven't tried, as I opted not to go for Heroism in the Undead campaign (I went Flawless Assault/Agony/Mass Agony/Lifedrain).
What I can tell you though is that Agony/Mass Agony doesn't seem to be castable against undead. So it seems as though certain units are totally immune to certain effects (undead against dark magic for ex.).
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Question: I'm using the Prophet patch, and the game's in offline mode. Thing is i have these traits and dynasty weapons that can't be used in offline mode. Whats the solution to this?

Ok i installed, patched to 1.1 and used /offline yesterday and it worked fine. But today when i tried to load my saved game it didn't let me do it, it said i need to be in offline mode to load offline save or something.
But im sure im already in offline mode, any ideas?'
edit: i now tried to move skidrow files over to the folder, i did not do this before, still not used the cracked exe. Still same result.

My guess would be that youre not in offline mode. I didn't touch any of the cracks, and everything worked for me in 1.1 (can't play today though, not at home). Try running it from your command prompt and adding the /offline manually.

Dno game feels really weird overall. Maybe i'm just not used to m&m series anymore seeing as the last one i played was m&m 3 but seriously.
The balance is non-existant. 1st mission with the necros and it's already getting on my nerves on normal even tho i play most games on the hardest difficulty levels and i'm fine.
Plenty of stuff that you can't find explanations to as to why it ain't working and if it should be working or not in the first place. Like why the hell was i just able to port one of my heroes to town but the next one has all his spells grayed out? New turn, full mana and yet can't do it??

I had low expectations for this title, but despite the non-intuitiveness of a few features I still find the game rather fun. It's a bit worse than KB but still much better than Disciples 3.
Edit: I do hate those online-only features with a passion though (can't use dynasty weapon, dynasty bonuses etc.)

Is there only two maps per campaign? I figured I'd give the game one more try without the 1.1 patch (infinitely better) but after finishing the 2nd Plava map, the only options were "Restart" and "End Game" - which took me back to the title screen and unlocked the rest of the campaigns.
