Get latest dash update from http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/how-to/update-xbox-360/system-updates and put it on USB stick (or just download if you are connected to live). Put it in your xbox and let it update.

Get CK3 Lite, CK3 Probe, VIA 6421 card, SATA cable, Torx screwdrivers. Then download JungleFlasher and firmware (from some torrent or warez size). Disassemble the Xbox, remove and open the drive. And then follow the tutorial included with JungleFlasher to hook everything up and flash.

So what is the dif between

CK3 Lite / CK3 Pro/ Blaster CK3 ??

Or do i *need* the lite one ?

Lite is the most basic and cheapest version. If you wish you can get Pro or Blaster instead. (If you get the Blaster you dont need the probe as it comes included)

Pro has USB support and allows you to connect xbox hard drive to PC to transfer stuff fro it. Plus it includes some extra cables, like SATA and USB.

Blaster allows you to do everything that Pro does, only it can hook up to your console and once hooked up you don't have to open the console to flash again, you just plug in the cable directly in the Blaster. It can also make backups of xbox games.

EDIT: Actually there's a really nice comparison on the bottom of this page:

What if I have an original (refurbished) xbox360 hitachi 120gb drive with corrupted security sector that my 360 wouldnt recognise anymore (so i use it for my pc) Is there any way i can make it work with my 360 again?

You could probably format it in Windows (and maybe do a check/fix) and follow the hack tutorial; obviously using "120HDD.bin".

It won't reflash but you should be cautious about updating; it might add new security checks and/or RGH fix.

C4E’s iXtreme Burner Max in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter

As you may or may not be aware, the new XGD3 format has a larger capacity than a standard DVD+R DL disc so it has become virtually impossible to make a 100% backup of the disc.

They said it was impossible. They said that CFW was finished. They were wrong.

C4E presents yet another world first to the Xbox scene, the iXtreme DVD Burner FW which now increases the capacity of a standard dual layer DVD+R DL to a FULL 8.7GB !

Features:
100% Customized burner firmware - never been done before !
Full 8.7GB 100% Backups on standard Dual Layer DVD+R DL
Flashable via Jungle Flasher (Upcoming Version)
No IMGBurn Errors
No CIV errors
Passes all current checks
Requirements:
Verbatim Dual Layer DVD+R DL compatible only at this time
********** SATA DVD Burner
Note: The model of the DVD Burner will be announced shortly. There are several different versions of this model and we want to make sure that each one can be patched before we tell you to go out and buy.

We are so far supporting 4 different versions of this drive, we want to make sure we can cover as many as possible.

There are LOTS of this particular drive available and the RRP is less than $25 USD. On the bright side At least everyone will be forced to upgrade to a decent burner now

Testing is fully underway. The current LT+ 2.0 requires no update (except Samung which will require a small change). As an example we bought the troublesome Forza4 (doesn't work with previous burning method - failed various checks), ripped to a backup using 0800 v3 and burned using the new iXtreme Burner Max and have been playing with it on XBL for several hours with the same LT+ 2.0 that was released last week.

Coming very soon to a burner near you (DO NOT ASK WHEN!)

Well I personally have no problem with this - considering the lengths MS has gone to stop burned games, and the fact that it has been circumvented by c4e - buying a DVD burner for a measly $25 is well worth it, considering you can buy 2 or almost 3 burners for the price of one game.

Make no mistake though, I still buy the games I really love and play a lot, but this is pretty damn cheap for what you get out of it.

Because if they start using checks on that little part of the disc that we don't burn with the current overburn methods we are all fucking then. Those games will be unplayable. If I understood everything correctly.
