The sgs2 comes with 16gb internal memory, with roughly 12gb for user data and 2gb internal storage for legacy apps.so its 14gb not 8 or 6.

I read it wrong, so it's even better deal to buy SGS2

And apple wants us to pay the same amount for a 4s 16GB version we paid for iphone 4 16GB! Yeah right..I will stick to 4 and see the alternatives when iOS 5 slows down my phone.

iOS 5 doesn't slow the phone down at all. I've been using the betas, and it's smooth. I'd even say it's smoother than the 4.X.Y, as I see no animation stutters on iOS 5 as I used to see in 4.

The Iphone is my favorite console ATM. I don't have time to play the "big" consoles because of my upcoming exams, but I can always fit in a game or two on my Iphone. Graphics are really nice, and you always have it ready. PS Vita looks nice, but won't be able to compete with the Iphone in mobile gaming for me...

Using browser benchmark: Utterly stupid.

Opera on Galaxy S2 (2.3.4): 1634.4ms ... twice as fast as the stock browser. (which is at 3288.2 + - 1%, not 3700)

Is the phone now suddenly twice as fast? Oh noes ...

I don't give a slightest damn about the browser benchmarks. They're utter nonsense just like on the desktop. That's not what was impressive.

Sorry, I shouldn't have quoted your text, but just the source Smile

With such a dedicated OS, it is no wonder that Apple is capable of having such a fast device with "only" 800MHz dual core.

It's like with consoles that are capable of displaying better graphics compared to their PC counter parts which have the "same" hardware. So it was the right choice to give the iPhone a faster gfx chip.

Androids biggest feature, that it can run on so many different devices, is one of it's biggest disadvantages in regard of system requirements (and power consumption, though they improved REALLY well)

Well, I guess there is still much place for improvement. Still no HW acceleration on GUI rendering? Laughing Some are speculating that it might be finally in Sandwich, but let's see.

Really? See, that is where the whole 2x1.2 GHz are spent, because I don't see any lag Laughing

The first iPhone had that directly from the beginning, right? Because I can remember that that phone was really smooth Smile

And also, still quite an achievement what Apple does with a 800MHz CPU vs. 1.2-1.5GHz, and no matter what you say, I will never believe it is just because of hardware spectrum. If I didn't know better, I'd troll it was Java and the JNI/Java interop marshaling Laughing but Dalvik is rather good. Perhaps it is not optimal, or there is something else. I've seen single-core WP7 beat Android dual-cores in some tests and that's just sad. Laughing

Not really Iphone 4S, but iOS5:

Quote:
To put Newsstand in a folder, you need to be fast. You have to create a new folder by dragging one app onto another. As the folder is being created, drag Newsstand into the folder. Presto!

Note that you will have to drag Newsstand while the create folder animation is taking place. If youโ€™re quick enough, you can store Newsstand away in a dark and lonely place.

Once you place Newsstand in a folder, you canโ€™t open it again. If you try to open Newsstand while itโ€™s in a folder, your SpringBoard will crash and your iOS device will reboot. But hey, at least itโ€™s put away in a folder now!

Eh, I don't have links anymore. But points of interest:

* XNA performance in 3D games on WP7
* HW accelerated browser in WP7.5 Mango

If you find some, please post links Smile
