Since a few weeks ago the gov decided that people here shouldnt follow an adoption course(?) to be able to live here.
Now the Turkish want their money back that they had to pay before to get one of those courses, this i can fully understand.
But now they want to sue the state for all the harm it has caused them, trying to claim €5000,- PER PERSON of the state as "makeup money" (?), calculated they think its going to cost the state 100 mill euro in total..
I personally got nothing against the Turkish, but seriously wtf...
Maybe Wilders was right and we should kick their asses out..

To learn how to speak and write Dutch, to learn the Dutch culture so that there is no confusion when someone said something that means to be funny in Dutch culture but not in others(?)
Those kinda things.

We have a minority government at the moment that is being supported by Geert Wilders' party in the house (2nd chamber). In order to please Wilders the government announced that the multicultural society is dead and they stopped with the integration courses for foreigners. Meaning it's their own responsibility to learn Dutch and etc.

Learning the language should be mandatory but culture should be optional. Though I still do not understand why they want money from the government. I assume it's just a scam, so hopefully the dutch judges won't pay the 5000€.
But on another note, who put those courses in place? Shouldn't that party/people be responsible too?
Btw would it make any difference to you, if it were dutch that wanted the money from the government? In the end I fail to see where the difference is between tax paying citizens with foreign or national background.
Edit: I read a bit more and people that didn't need to go on integration courses were threatened with sanctions and so on.. Seems as if there was some major fuck-up going on and the people want their moneys back.

They want the extra money because they have "suffered" all those years by having to take such a course while it wasnt needed.
And no, it wouldnt make any diffrence to me if a group of Dutch people would do it. I would get just as pissed off as i am now.
We already lack money and have to cut down on alot of things that benefit the whole country, why rip even more money off our goverment?!
Eventually it will backfire anyway.

Well you have to rely on your judges know. They will investigate if there really was a fuck up or if the claims are true. 5000€ per person is not so much money but when you talk about 20.000 people...
Fuck knows, but there was an agreement back in ~1960 with Turkey that nothing would interfere with the Turkish being able to work here. It seems that thats the thing that got violated and made them withdraw the need of that course and causing all this bullshit.

As I said, if those tests were unnecessary, who put them in place?
The government of course, and they did fuck up like sending people from Suriname who already lived here for decades to an integration course. In this case though the people seem to think that learning Dutch isn't necessary so they should be compensated.
Heh, in Sweden our government started PAYING people €500 take free language courses. A bunch of immigrants joined up and then left as soon as they got the money. Stupid!!!!
