The JF tutorial is the best tutorial. Its not all over the place, you just have to follow the links, instead of scroling from page 1 and down.
depending on your dashboard, it may be impossible to get the key without using a probe. If you got MS's firmware upgrade some months ago, you need a probe. Again read JF tutorial for help, or you can go to JF's channel on EFnet, people are mostly helpfull |
I'm on LT+ 1.1 and the last dash update I did was the on that came with Bulletstorm.
I did follow the links but I don't see an option on getting the key and updating fw. The closest options I found assumes that I have the key or I'm starting from scratch, and here it assumes I have the ck3. |
I dont think you can get the key yourself without having extra hardware so get the key from whoever modded your console to 1.1 and with it its pretty simple.

JF reads my samsung real nice. The problem is that when i disconnect and connect when prompted my win7 freezes. I'm connected through ATA cable to my motherboard. Is my motherbard not compatible or something ?
Is there a non-windows way ?

did you follow the Tut where it tells you to remove your raid drivers.for your sata?

Since you dont have the key, you are starting from scratch, took me 30 sec to find the needed section in JF tutorial.
You do need a PMT probe to get your key.

The way imgburn works and clone cd works is quite different the way I figured out is command lb and then burn then it results in 100 burn

Not sure if this helps or not cobALT but I was in a similar situation as you. What I've found is that if you have the key then you don't need the probe, but if you don't have the key then from everything I read you do need the probe to extract the key.
In my situation my jungle flasher still had my key in my database (as it stores it when it was last completed). It couldn't find it automatically but when I searched the database to compare with my drive it found it in seconds. From there it auto loaded the 2.0 firmware as I had it placed in the JF Firmware folder. I then erased the current firmware and wrote the new one. During teh write I just pulled the power out of the drive (It was powered by the xbox) and plugged it back in. I didn't do it lightning quick, took a few seconds but it still worked fine.
But.... If you don't have the key then I think you need a probe.
People talk about spoofing the drive key but when I loaded mine from the database it was all ok for the updated firmware key
Edit: AS mentioned above, you could extract the key without a probe prior to any lt firmware update (which is where I got mine from). After that, if you don't have the key then you need to use a probe.

I have lt 2.0 for a while now. And now i want to burn Halo:Reach. Its an ap 2.5 game. Do i stil have to patch the game for ap2.5.

Yes but no news when the LT Fix is coming but he has confirmed its coming and BTW the Slim LT 2.0 is also delayed and it would come with LT Fix

That's good , either way Im not planning to flash it again this year..no matter what happens. Even if november dash is going to flash it to stock I don't care..for now..

I didn't even put the screws or the mask back on my box this time. I just put half of the mask on there, left the other side facing the wall and you can't even notice. So next time I need to flash I don't have to spend 20 freaking minutes trying to open the damn thing.

After my drive crashing while writing the new firmware I was unable to get it into vendor mode. I tried a lot of shit, but it didn't work. Finally I took it to a guy who flashes drives. He flashed it and now it works again.
I'm not admitting defeat! Next time I will win, I will flash it myself!
Hardware: Ryzen 3700x, B450 MSI Gaming Pro carbon AC, GTX1080, 32 GB 3200 Mhz cas 14, 256 EVO SSD, 1 TB EVO SSD and 4 TB HDD.

Hello,
I have attempted to flash my LT+ Benq drive with 2.0 firmware. I followed everything in the manual . Saved the key updated the dashboard connected the drive again updated the firmware to 2.0. closed the xbox. When I tried an old backup I got the "play dvd".
I thought that I didn't do something correct opened the drive again I've read the the old firmware this time I didn't spoofed it automatically but manually and when Iin time the firmware was written the console stoped. Since then I cannot open the dvd tray. I click on the button or in the console to open firmware and nothing happens. The computer doesn't recognize my drive anymore. Is this bricked or there is still hope to get it working?

I haven't lost my mind. I know exactly where I left it.
