Allright guys, I'm finally finished with downloading (phew* 6Mbit and 18Gb are a bitch).
So what is it with the Textures? Is this an ATI only problem again and NVidia cards are fine?
Or is it for everyone? Any problems with SKIDROW version?
with Geforce 450, the game runs very very smooth on 1680x1050
but WHAT A SHIT. With their stupid textures pop-up, developers beat the record of the ugliest game of the last 20 years.
I just bought the game, so I have the right to complain about the bad bad bad job they made about graphics. Will try to play longer but it truly hurts eyes....and brain to see so many blur. Of course, impossible to play in 3D (stereo mode), cause your game just runs in 60 Hz. 2D is OK, but waiting 10 seconds for having a normal picture displayed is truly too long and enough.
Good reviews from gaming sites, lol....they GOT PAID OR LAID, that's all.
Edit: used the trick http://pixelsmashers.com/?p=11472 and indeed it can help a lot and now the game is at least more playable, but that's not the best way.

Fix worked on HD6870. I get occasional NPC animation problems with the newest RAGE drivers though, as if there were 2 animations running at the same time and rapidly switching between them
So do you have to do exec rageconfig.cfg in console after making this file ? Is it necessary ? Cause when i try to do it in console it says unknown command or smth like that
thank you, I have tried http://pixelsmashers.com/?p=11472
and indeed it's more playable now. But anyway, I can understand why this game is called "RAGE"
Does the new RAGE AMD driver actually work? I just get so much artifacts the game just crashes every so often. 11.10 seemed to work "ok" but the new RAGE performance drivers don't do jack shit. Or am I missing something? Where are the newest ones?
Quests, so far, are "Go here, kill them/collect that" but I've only been playing for a short time. Gunplay is sublime, feels meaty and accurate, with great hitboxes. I'm not happy about the invisible walls though, they're constantly teasing what more this game could have been. It's Quake 4, post apocalyptic, with questing, crafting and an inventory system. Pretty linear (so far) but very fun.
Ok guys i have another question, after i maked the cfg file 8192 the game plays ok but almost everytime that i enter a new area it's start lagging for a little bit, and this could really hurts in the shooting battles. If i put it to 4096 there is no difference in the texture pop in.So any ideas ?
Edit:NVM it's not doing that now...wtf

See how shit it still is on ATI.
Now even models begin to flicker and disform
Game's perfectly fine, constant 60fps without any stuttering . Feels very very smooth. Only issue I found thus far is the flickering of NPC shown in that video. But it's only few models I found in Wellsprings.
Its just a shit engine that they pushed out too early.
My pc is more then good enough to have none of this shit, so fuck you ID software, get aids and die!
If I recall correctly you have HD6870 as well, correct? I have that one too, but I haven't encountered any issues beside that strange NPC animation flickering bug.
