Could be the creators just wanted to trick the viewers, ie. Gus just thought of something to sway Jesse and went back to get him to return to the lab sooner. And rather than actually show that, everyone now thinks he has a spider sense - until next week at least. |
Yeah that's exactly what I thought. This show is too realistic to rely on hints. |
Personally I think the "machinery" started spinning, he is a strategist and it didn't make sense to him that Jesse wouldn't blame Walt for the deed immediately. Which meant that Jesse and Walt still were working together. That meant that he figured that Walt probably had convinced Jesse that Gus was the perpetrator. I think this is what he realized and had to go back to "amend".
