Thanks for the confirmation.

I was just reading about the PC graphics though, is it true that they did the same think as 2k11 , not including occlusion, shadows on jerseys etc.? I know mods will fix it but it would still be annoying...

Yes, the lighting right now is pretty generic. But with last year's shadow mods on this game it shall look amazing.

Quote:

There are still a lot of key differences between the PC version of NBA 2K12 and the Console version.

- Online still forces you to play on Low Graphic Quality settings (same as 2K11 & 2K10)

-The console’s Lighting Engine did not make it into the PC version again this year

-The Custom Arena Music feature is not in the PC version

-Courts are inaccurate for non-US versions of the game

-There are no alternate control schemes

-No way to unlock Classic Warriors or Kings teams

- We cannot edit any of the iff files yet

To expand on the last point, the iff files are using a new compression format this year, meaning none of our tools from 2K9-2K11 can edit the textures and models inside the files. While these omissions are certainly disappointing, the PC version does have the updated gameplay and other features from the console versions of the game, and it’s half the price. For more information look around the NBA 2K12 forum.

Mods will fix many of these aspects, still disappointing though.

Screens (not mine):

Pretty basic lighting, with no self-shadowing nor ssao/environmental lights, just like last year's version. Some serious modding is needed

Yap, the graphics need serious shadow and lighting mods before they're up to par with NBA 2K11 PC. Still, we have the game, it's cheap, and it's REALLY good.

Take my advice, visit the Training Camp. You probably didn't know half the moves NBA 2K11 had, and now there's double. Practice in it and soon you'll be playing much more impressive and highlight worthy basketball.

Two things you need to do:
1. Enter these values in your config.cfg
VIDEOSETTING_PLAYERLOD = 3
VIDEOSETTING_STADIUMLOD = 1
VIDEOSETTING_CROWDDETAIL = 2
VIDEOSETTING_SHADERDETAIL = 1
VIDEOSETTING_SIDELINECHARACTER = 2
VIDEOSETTING_ANISOTROPICQUALITY = 2

2. Try the enbseries from 2k11.

Have you actually tried those settings? I'm officially exhausted from the wait, and I finished Training Camp before crashing into bed, so I won't be able to try them for another 8 hours worth of sleep. Do they still work, do they make any obvious difference? Besides the enb.

EDIT: Last year I was only using Global mods, nothing from the ENB series, so I don't know which ENB mod to try on 2K12. If any of you have a particular in mind, tell me.

It requires a key to get online and has Securom v8 so it should require a crack as well. But I could be mistaken.

Btw guys, did anyone find the game for digital download elsewhere (besides Steam)?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean... I played like 7-8 seasons online in 2k11

Cant force occlusion as it says not supported by this app. Or did you mean some other tweak?

The lighting on players is really annoying , will just practice on the 3DM version and get 360 one on 7th. Not to mention the 360 patches are faster than pc and im sure they will be fixing stuff Smile

Got the latest nVidia beta.

Tried this via exe file not the general 3D settings. Maybe 2k12 just doesnt like it.

Mods never really reached the console version. What a shame, they are taking the EA road. Embarassed

True that :/ , the stadiums and players in NBA 2K11 were still a bit "plastic" and non as life-like as the console versions even after all the shadow mods/tweaked enb series. The hilarious thing is that NBA 2K9 PC looked better than last year's version (and 2k12 too it seems) Razz

Guys, you're nitpicking the game to hell and back. Have you played it? It's AMAZING. The improvements offer a whole new experience, in many ways different and improved than last year.

Gameplay is the most important aspect, there's no doubt about that Smile, it's just kinda frustrating to see the PC Master Race version treated like a 3rd class citizen Razz

So is there a "quick game" option to play with a friend? I tried to do that in 2k11 and we could get a game going, but it crashed every time. I don't really care about leagues and all that, just would like to play with a friend or two.

I thought teammate grade was supposed to be easier in this. It's so much harder to set random picks to boost it, I end games with C+ Sad

All in all my player seems much harder so far. Just got 257 skill points for an entire game

Playing it on the 360, its awesome, better than last year.You can now box out well to get rebounds, and the major one...RUN FASTBREAKS! your players actually keep running to the basket as you pass rather than stopping!Does anyone know if its still possible to play the my player mode as Jordan like last year?

How can I perform steps(hops) with keyboard in this game? In 2k11 there was a special button for it, it seems they have removed it in 2k12
