I would hate for anyone to be banned over this. I would rather the truth be known. But I would like it explained why the objections for my appointment to the crew.

I don't think I've done anything wrong, except be female.
I mean I know that a woman shouldn't know more than an average man about all things PC. But seeing as I was introduced at a young age, I've picked up a slight bit of learning on the computer side.

Dont take the commets to heart.. its got nothing to with you being chosen, its a "well why not me" reaction. It would of been the same had anyone been chosen, but the reactions prove the choice Smile.. no one here is against ou or the choice.. they just want to understand for the future Smile

Noooo.. its against what they are not: Female..
Its like being picked first in Gym class, the big, tall, sporty types are always first. The geeks know "Im a geek, I suck, i wont get picked" and accept it. If the geeks got picked first the big guys would bitch and moan for a life time trying to figure out why FOR THEM so they can understand and move on.. otherwise it will run around in there heads "why not me.. why not me.." then they will point the finger "that kid had robotic shoes!!! that must be why he was picked over me!!! CHEATER!!!".. makes them feel better.

The same rule applies, people dont see why your better than they are (I'm not saying you are or are not, my point is that those commenting see things this way..) so they will try and rationalise, the easiest thing to do is blame your sex Razz! Just dont worry about it Very Happy

Not to be rude or anything but just because sex is the easiest card to play dosn't mean it's the right one. I know a few women who know as much or even more then me about computers and I don't feel like less of a man I feel like i have competition Smile

Well mentally women are no less capable then men so why should it be any other way psychoace. It really just depends on the individual.

In this case atleast, Jenni has proven that she knows a lot. I know she knows more about PCs than me, the mods here do pick good mods.

AA the topic says, and I will restate it again. The posters are cool and you rarely see anyone going way out of line and breaking some rules. Keep up the good work mods and make syn a mod Smile
