Does any of you know where to pre-order it in Europe at the cheapest price ?
Play.com is 27,99 pounds delivered. Something better ??

Nah that is best in the UK, http://www.mx2.co.uk/acatalog/MX2_co_uk_PC_Pre_Orders_A_F_328.html comes "close".
Well in France you can get it for "40" euros. It is 50 euros but you get a cheque worth 10e
http://www.alapage.com/mx/?donnee_appel=BAN80&tp=F&type=52&REF_NOVA=626996&nopp=1

28.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 40.6938 EUR Euro

One thing I found off about that picture is in the ESRB raiting it says "RP" For "Rating Pending". I don't think there are only retail games without a ESRB rating.

Plus the box looks like it's made out of flimsy cardboard (although it's hard to tell), which would suggest pre-order box.

Every copy comes with a headset. It's a must for a game like this, players forming squads and such, and the commander of course.

I want to pre-order but I'm afraid it'll hit the shops before it hits my mailbox. And I just can't wait that long

Can someone confirm that pre-orders usually takes longer to get to you home than it hits the stores?

Oh man, can't wait for this bastage. Buildin new rig just for it, hope it doesn't disappoint. I'm bored, so I'll list some nifty stuff that ye may or may not have known (been reading a hella lotta info/previews/gameplay vids on it in the past few days).

-Aircraft/Choppers equipped with flares (for heat-seeker missle evasion). Apparently each has a very limited number. There effectiveness is as of yet unknown. Also, in the E3 vids you see the pilot wearing an aviation helment. I don't know if they're planning to keep this custom skin in, or have already cut it, er what. Don't wanna start a rumor Razz

-Aircraft/Choppers have HUDs displaying AGL, Speed, and ehrm, maybe something else? Can't recall. Still, better than no fookin HUD at all right?

-There will be no ejection seats Sad However, they have implemented a free-fall animation, so when you fall long distances you take somewhat of a skydiver stance, instead of falling straight down like previously. Also, parachute has some jerkiness motion when opened.

-Players able to jump insanely high. Apparently EA implemented this to help avoid getting stuck on objects (walls etc). when trying to jump over them. Add to this the fact that the scale of shit is much closer to real life this time, and I guess I can see why it would be necessary. Still, it looks fuckin goofy. EA quoted on some interview that they may address the issue in a patch after release if they hear enough bitching. Watch some of the E3 preview vids, you'll see what I mean.

-E3 comps. running the BF2 demo had something along the lines of:
2GB RAM
P4 3 GHz
GeForce 6800 (unstated whether this was GT, Ultra, extreme, er whatever the fuck other model. Also unknown if it was single or SLI config).
However, figured some may want to know that.

Slated Date -
Official EA Word - "Late June, with demo release 1-2 weeks before shelfdate).
Gamespy Says - June 27
EB Says - June 21
The Truth IS - NOBODY FUCKIN KNOWS Very Happy

Hope dat helps answer some stuff. Didn't read entire thread, dunno what was posted before.

The respawn has also changed.

When players form squads there is a squad leader, if a member of the squad dies you can either respawn at a flag, or at your squad leader.

As long as two squad leaders survive, that's some intense fighting between two squads. Smile

Couple this with their (apparently) improved infantry combat, and those street maps, gonna' be a fantastic time.

All the while your commander is trying to out manuever the other team. Very Happy

I don't know about that. Take a look at Counterstrike. Case and point.
Perhaps they'll have a selected mute feature for players? Although I guess you could always just boot em out of the squad.

However, I for one pray this doesn't become another CS in terms of damage modelling. I like the BFV shot/damage model just as is. 1-2, at max 3 bullets from an ak, even from ~200 meters, and you're down. Bullets go where they're meant to, short bursts WORK. You can't aim for the feet and miraculously get a headshots. Grenades kill, unlike CS where they tickle. Its a hella lot better then the toeshots/one pixel of the guys extremity shot = insta kill.
One of the E3 demo players noted that he shot a prone guy x3 in the face, yet he didn't die. *shudders*
Please don't fuck it up EA.

The voice over IP thing is firstly made for teamplay. The squad comander can mute the kiddies that scream for no reason and bother others (CS). Also, the VoIP is a server-side option, that can be turned on or of by the server admin.

In my opinion, VoIP will make it much more easier for people who arrange BF2 tournaments, where they have Divisions and companies. I just hope it better than Teamspeak...

they said that the only people that can hear each other are the people in thier own squad and commanders can only hear from thier squad leaders for this reason alone.

Demo should be released after the official release, thats what EA announced.

Ehrm, according to Gamespots live E3 video interview with the chief corporate whore in charge of the franchise, forgive me, I forget his name, he mentioned something about a demo being offered exclusively to Gamecenter customers (some new service being offered by game spot, fuck if I know).
I'm sure it won't be 100% exclusive though, maybe just like a day earlier er somethin? Er maybe they cancelled that idea.
All the things I've read/seen have said "1 to 2 weeks before the shelf date".
Unless you have newer info that I'm not aware of? If so, please do link.

I need that demo too. I'm not buying any shit without previously been able to test it. What if this game give me headaches and nausea while playing? Will I get a refund? What's the purpose of the demo anyway? Why having the demo after the official release? Wouldn't be better to release it before the official release to promote your product? Unless they think their game stink...

So many questions. I don't expect an answer for all Smile

Time for my early morning rant (well, its noon, but I just got up Razz) This one came to me while laying awake last night, so I figured I'd give it a go. It's about the selection of BF2 gameplay vids out there. Or, more specifically, what they contain.

1. Who the FUCK do they chose to go to these exclusive play events? Lobotomized llamas? If you've watched a few ingame vids from them, you'll come to either one of two possible conclusions.
A. The person playing is infact mentally slow.
B. The person playing lacks any common sense whatsoever.
They continually drive into walls, revisit the same location on the map driving into the same godddamn wall (repeatedly), hop the fuck around like the easter bunny (while not in combat, and on multiple occasions, not just test hopping). Bah. I know they may be trying to get a feel for the game, but ehrm, what the fuck are they thinking?

2. There is a sore lackage of any sort of helicopter/aircraft ingame vids. I ran across one, inwhich the guy got in, and crashed it into a fuckin bridge. Real informative Smile I wish someone would actually give em an honest go, so we could see the heatseekers/flares/warning system in action.

3. They seem to be having these playtests with a very limited number of players at a time. Map seems pretty void of other players during them. Most of these people are of course from BF fansites, and could most likely provide some very good feedback regarding problems/gamebalance (slow llama comment aside). They should coordinate, and get these guys together on a 32v32. I'm sure they could find a multitude of imbalances etc. that have plagued the release of the previous titles.
If you spend years developing a title, I'm sure its harder for you to find shit thats over/underpowered, whereas the guy that spends years PLAYING it, can do so easily.
Ok, so we'll have the opportunity to test for this type of shit during the hopefully preshelf demo. But by then, it'll be too late to implement the changes, and knowing EA, a patch will follow in 2-3 months Razz
Sure the devs. prolly playtest the title, but if anyone remembers the BF:V M60/Law kit from the early days of launch, that right there shows their judgement as to what needs tweaking Razz

End of rant. I was bored. Forgive my bitchin, but maybe there's a valid point in there somewhere heh.
