Does it work with ali´s unlocked steam release? Probably won´t since razor´s is retail according to nfo. Oh well, hope it does since I have downloaded 75% of that chinese crap lol
Yep. It looks like a sim, it pretends to be a sim with its tuning options, but in reality it's just a hardcore arcade game. Set to the highest difficulty, expecting some serious assrape, but the result was a near-perfect lap of the Nürburgring (my favourite track ever, in any game ). You can go full power just before the apex without spinning, you have to have 2 wheels off the road for anything to happen and even then you have to be in steer lock. If it really had any serious handling I wouldn't be able to lap the ring just like that in 1:32; had I bothered with a second lap I would've been way faster than the real record (because I was still conservative and figuring out just how strong my brakes are), which is 1:29 I believe? Graphically it's not impressive either, seems to have been toned down badly, looks very bland. I remember F1 2010 looking better than this :/
Edit @ H_S: Yeah, but I went into this with "bet this is gonna be terrible" in my head
You can't do an arcade F1 game. It's just..no, you don't do it. F1 is about pure precision and timing and I didn't feel either of that. At the very least you have to get the sense of power in those monsters across and the game doesn't even do that right.
I'm surprised that some of you expected a f1 sim. It's more sim than last year's game though and so far not buggy.Gfx are 10x times better as colors are more vibrant.
@ Boner/Viker: Don't take my word for it, try it yourself. There's a very real chance you won't agree with me (hence me saying "this is not for me"). I disliked Dirt 2 and absolutely despised Dirt 3 for having the same problem as this one: your car is glued to the road. If you liked those, then perhaps you will like this as well
I'm very picky when it comes to driving/racing games. Either they're a sim or they're arcade, but anything in between I can't appreciate at all. And regardless of the type I want to have to like, you know, drive: steer, accelerate, brake. Burnout, NFS (excluding Shift), Split Second - none of them really require that; perhaps a tap of the brake and pressing left or right, but for the most part keeping your foot down works fine.
Trackmania is 100% arcade and I love it, but that's because if you compare it to the ones I just mentioned, it requires so much more brain to play
@ DarkRohirrim: forgot about that one hahaha
@ Coban: no, it doesn't
@ fearwhatnow: that's how the game presents itself, how it's marketed. Not my fault.
