I hoped the full version would include a tutorial of some sort. I suck at Paradox games so much...pretty lost without a tutorial Smile

Played a few hours last night and this game is great. They managed to capture the feel of that period in a believable way. Started playing as one of the Shimazu vassal's vassal (yeah, a single province and lowest on the ladder). I still have to figure out how to advance in the clan, how, who and when to marry, etc. The fact that my lords aren't exactly the brightest doesn't help either. The clan just sits on the island, doing nothing in particular. The biggest conflict we ever got into was a brief war that killed off a mediocre clan in the mainland. Several other clans teamed up and we only managed to capture 3 or 4 provinces, all months of marching away from the main clan territories.

Although, is there a time limit? And does the game end completely if me or some other clan becomes Shogun? I always hated this kind of forced game-ending.

Apparently it does end after someone became Shogun.

Damn I hate this with a passion. Sad

Why can't they just let us keep playing even if we can't really achieve the ultimate goal? Civ, Total War, etc. All of them allow this.

I wonder how it will be with updates. It seems that game doesn't need much fixing as previous Paradox product, but from what I read on official forum updates are on the way.

Played a bit more, never really got above 10-15% of the islands conquered, and so far only ran into one bug. Played as the northernmost clan (Nanban or whatever) and during one of the smaller wars, I noticed the only non-connected province of my enemy was taken over by a child landlord who was from my clan (none of my vassals were children, all above 15), and in the end it was a sovereign clan, but also called Nanban and had the same color as me. I have no idea how that little twerp managed to get an army, let alone conquer a province without having one beforehand.

Sounds like an anomaly to me.

I am not talking about bugs that crashes client and such, but about game mechanics. I wonder will be patches available... games is nice, but can't afford it atm.

I have a couple of problems with this game.

So I conquer left and right with the Date clan (little clan up north) but one can only have 5 provinces for one self. Fair enough, but the interface as to give your sons the new provinces are boring me - once you get on a roll, you just sit there pointing at provinces for your army to conquer and then getting your sons there share. Later on I had more gold than I could could use and I maxed all levies, retinues and ronins all the time...

And then there is still too much walking around trying to catch the enemy (as with other games from Paradox). This got old in EU1...

And then there is simply not enough to do in this game - I spent the most time finding wifes for my clan I think :/ And rest of the time (even in wars later) were on max speed.

Bring on CK2

There are two kinds of people I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.
