lol these games haven't changed at all, first mission is just brutal "go kill this entire camp with 4 guys" and no other instruction. I have to relearn how to play MoW since the last game

Now this is a nice surprise, i fucking love the MOW games. Assault squad was meh, even the multiplayer (i love the original unbalanced one more Razz) but the campaigns are always fun.

I dunno.. You can really tell that Vietnam was made by the russians, and not Digital Mindsoft. In a bad way.

Vietnam seems to use the older "engine" from MoW / MoW:red tide and not the vastly superior upgrade we enjoyed in Assault squad. Explains why the game feels a lot worse to play when it comes to the AI and unit control

It's pretty obvious and having played Assaut Squad recently Vietnam is kinda unplayable. A lot of the time my soldiers just stand/lie there not shooting or anything making the micromanagement even worse than it is and at times giving the attack orders doesn't even help. Sorry to say it but this game is the worst of all Men of War, no contest.

I'm only on the first level getting the fuel at the church (it's hard keeping all 4 alive !!) but so far I'm actually liking it more than Assault Squad. I think it's just the era and enviroment I like more.

I don't know what some of you are talking about... It's the same thing as MOW and Red Tide and was anyone expecting anything different?

Can't comment on the quality of the missions since i'm in the middle of the first one. Standard stuff currently.

In reading the comments here between the MoW dev and Assault Squad dev in that they were two different companies, does that mean that Assault Squad was easier? Because the first MoW was difficult even on easy.

Assault Squad was pretty much MP only but the skirmish missions were not that easy IMO, sure if you know how to play easy isn't that bad but normal is quite a challenge.

Either way Assault Squad is about a million times smoother to play than Vietnam

I think this series have gone down since the first game, Soldiers Heroes of WW2.

That game was awesome, played it tons in MP with some mods.

The new games just makes micro to complicated with the grouping, and to me it seems they always go to big in scale, its not fun to control to many units or to meet to many enemy's.

I also don't like the GFX in the newer games, it feels like the engine was much more optimized before and you could see what what going on much easier.

On the surface MoW looks kinda the same as SHoWW2 but if you look into the details, MoW haven't really added anything that SHoWW2 didn't offer 5 years ago, almost the opposite imo.

I agree and the great campaigns for SP play have gone down hill since Soldiers Heroes of WW2 I think to.
