I did the exact same thing! I think he was the same level I was at the time (level 31). When he finally did go down, he gave a piddley 134 exp and no drop. I moved closer to the building then another Jason appeared and went on to one hit wonder me. I gave up after that.

Just a cameo appearance, there is nothing special in his hut either. Except for his chainsaw of course but its not that useful.

Any way to recover progress? I've updated and applied DR's graphical settings, but I had to restart and to be honest, fuck that shit.

I just saw. Many thanks, thread searching did nothing for me. By the way, are we talking about the steam_api.dll from the initial release or from another update?

If you want to disable your ingame voice, put Steam on another microphone than the one you use (stereo mix, for example) and drag the volume all the way down.

Finished the final act, overall I enjoyed the game though there were some irregularities with like how the scaling worked in regards to the players level and the amount of backtracking to repeat some crucial job or such also got a bit tiresome but it wasn't that bad until towards the end of the game, maybe I just got a bit tired out by then, heh.
Nice item and enemy variety (Though not that many different zombie types but it's implemented in a good way without swarming every area with undead, ha ha.) though again the scaling meant I mostly saw blunt type weapons and only lower-end blades, throwing items and firearms with little exception other than possible quest rewards or the odd occasion in a metal chest, would have been nice to find more of the top-end and even some unique items (I checked the entire list back in 1.0 with dev-mode and I missed a lot of those items in this playtrough, especially firearms but I only ever used them at the final areas of the game to try the shooting mechanics admittedly.)
Also a nice touch to try and keep a more mature theme and serious setting albeit of course there were a few funny things and easter-eggs along the way and at some times it felt a bit forced but they did sort of use everything regarding zombie movies, books and other games.
(It does feel a bit like Far Cry 2 and Borderlands come to think of it but that's a very generalized description.)
Will be interesting to see how Techland chooses to continue from here, as I understood it there's more to come.

There is the Bloodbath arena DLC. However I don't think it's in the game yet even though it shows 'enabled' in the game menu. I know it's supposed to come out about a month later for the consoles though. I'm guessing they'll have a patch or addon to add it for PC players.

That's three times you've tried to "correct" somebody and been wrong about it. Please, stop trying to correct people No, the editing .xml files are NOT stored in "Settings" They are, as I said, stored in Out\Data, wherever Out folder is. On legit copies Out is in MyDocs\DeadIsland\Out .. on RLD, it's Dead Island\DI\Out\
@RallosZek
From what I know, Bloodbath is out at the end of the month across all platforms. You can add DLC1_Available.txt to your Data folder, and the item will show up in the menu, but it won't actually be "there" until the files are released.
... ok, time to see if I can escape from this Jason>spawn>dead loop

No tracking for sec. quests like 'Find Maggie'? No hints about where she is and I really didn't listen to the asshole that gave me the quest.

Quests like that are open.. you literally have to FIND that person. There's no dotted line help this time If you want to know, clickity click;
Spoiler: |
Maggie is at the lighthouse, just north along the winding main road from the Lifeguard Station
|
90% of the quests in this will have map notations or dotted lines.. but some, like Maggie, are "find him/her during your travels"

The game is incredibly addicting!!!
I am playing it on 360 for the sake that this version is less bugged and saves wont erase itself:lol:
Ive tried to lay with analog fighting and its best system for manual fighting ive seen in fps... but It takes too much efort for me and I prefer to play digital anyway;)
very time investing game:P

You can go back to the other areas whenever you want, some additional areas within these can't be re-visited however but is nearly exclusively for the main story (Unfortunately I have no idea if there is any collectibles or such in them but I guess not.) and there will be a prompt when you reach the so called "point of no return".
EDIT: Yeah "Fury" mode seems to crash for some people, no idea why but perhaps a driver issue as it's a shader effect with blur and desaturation and some other stuff.
