Is it fairly safe to assume that there'll be no way to patch from Reloaded's initial release to the 1.2 (or whatever today's patch is numbered) and retain the saves from playing with Reloaded's initial release?

This game didnt do much for me. Maxxed out everything and ran it at 1680x1050. Made me go like "meh". Gameplay was boring and just gave me that consoleport feeling. Uninstalled it after 20 mins...

Love the game - myself. There are console aspects floating around but not enough to put me off. I think if I'd downloaded the game and not bought it I'd probably decide not to play it as well but spending money always makes me give games a chance so from the very start I was up for getting into it. That doesn't mean every game I buy I love automatically, and I have plenty of regrets but I played a few games that I didn't buy and didn't find that interesting. Later when they turned up in a sale I'd be frivolous and buy, subsequently realising they were in fact very good.
This game is pretty engrossing - 20 mins of playing it for free isn't gonna convince anyone that it's any good.

sorry nui.
So you say that there is no difference in between the aspect ratios of 1920x1080 and 1024x768?
Size in fact does not matter. At least that's what she said

How do I invite a friend to a co-op game?
We installed the game, updates 1-2-3 cracked and ready to go, booted SmartSteam and joined a room in Tunngle.
After we finished the prologue we looked for each other in game lobby but no luck.
Are we supposed to play LAN or internet?
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

The 'saves' are NOT lost you just need to move them to the correct folder. If you used update1.2.3 then the save are in your dead island out subfolder and move them to steam user data "5794" folder. Then the MP / Coop / lan works..
Im sure this has been posted many times already, but havent read thru all pages yet.

He's talking about the save PROGRESS and yes, they are lost. There are no "files to move" around that will fix the issue, as it's an issue that also plagued the official Steam release. The very first patch that came out broke all saves, wiping out quest and storyline progression, meaning you had to restart from the chapter you were on.

How to dupe:
Spoiler: | Throw the weapon that you want to dupe.
As soon as you throw it, enter inventory and drop that same weapon (it will still be equipped)
Pick them both up, rinse, repeat.

Anyone knows how to edit the save files? I would like to respec my character

So, another patch came out. Now you can't launch the game. Crashes at logo.
