Amazing game, absolutely amazing. The only peppery gripe I have so far is the lame level scaling. It mostly negates your character upgrades. Sad

i also hate the freaking inventory management.if you get a new set of weapon u got to spend 10 minutes just messing around in some consolised-interface

Anybody figured out a good build for Xian? I'm at around lvl15 and I've found that backstab is OK'ish when you circlestrafe behind enemies but the jumping strike is terrible since it has an internal cooldown and I usually get smacked around if I do it. Sure, it does double damage, but I could just hit the enemy twice with a lot less effort.

How are the bleeds and poisons?

Also, for my coop with Purna, any build tips? Sucks ass that this game doesn't have respeccing.

BTW we ran into a funky bug on our coop session. My buddy suddenly had the game minimize out of the blue, and when he came back two seconds later he had two free levels and skillpoints waiting for him.

which way were you playing?

apply reloaded patch 1
apply coop mod fix
add game to steam as a non steam game
in steam goto settings and on the downloads+cloud tab and make sure "enable steam cloud synchronization" is ticked.

then you wont lose save games.

My saves are still disappearing. Steam cloud was already enabled when I checked. It only saves my latest character. The only thing I haven't done in your list is apply the coop mod fix. That shouldnt' make my saves disappear would it?

you should get it as it changes the steamapi.dll and steamappid file, its linked on the cs.rin.ru forum in the deadisland thread

Thanks! That seemed to have worked after all. I didn't think a co-op fix was needed to play singleplayer

EDIT: Has some issues with shadows. Sad

Divvy, can you please post a screenshot of your Inspector profile for Dead Island? I set those compatibility bits and enabled 2x msaa + 2x spars-grid traa but got noghing from it.

Dunno if this has been posted previously, but posting nevertheless - got crashes when trying to mod, even with hex-modded dll. This way, loaded game right up. No intros, fov fixed, blur gone. No dll hacking required thanks to this guy:

Nevermind I think I found the problem, Dead Island profile on Inspector goes for deadisland.exe and the real exe name is deadislandgame.exe.

You kinda missed my other reply so i repeat what i said:

your "issue" is related to smartsteam, not to the game. You cant set push to talk in the smartsteam options, neither is turning down the mic working.

I stumbled upon the Blueprint for "Developers Mod v1" or something like that.Would costs 5 Diamonds to craft but im sure the item bugs or something since you dont need a weapon to craft it

nothing. Will wait discount price on this one before buying it. Very interesting game, almost as good as DE HR, but there are also too many problems with this one: inventory is too long to customize, the upgrade system is so badly designed IMO. And finally, it's another CONSOLIZED GAME, I just can't stop to hate this. But when price will drop 30 US$ to 10 US$, yep, will buy it for sure.

Those are debug weapons, I tested them briefly but they're amongst the most powerful items in the game it seems.
(A hammer weapon called Ban for example that deals about ~1000 damage, apply a heavy mod and it deals more plus the name "Heavy ban" is pretty fun, almost as interesting as my heavy hammer with said mod thus becoming the heavy heavy hammer.)

(There's also a chainsaw weapon but I don't know if it's enabled by default, it's highly buggy - bad clipping and works sort of like a SMG - and has no visible durability but breaks very fast.)

That part about using the "out" folder worked, interesting but very useful, currently using around 75 FoV which is a good compromise and what I often utilize along with small tweaks to the UI for removing the X-hair and sprint bar.
(Radar can't be easily removed as the dots need to be there for the map to work at all, health bar and such are also very useful.)

Should I constantly back up my save folder, post every session, in case I need to apply any update later on and the existing saves get fucked?

and re-applying those saves later on works properly right? If yes, then I'll make it a practice to back them up after every session.

Game now is activated again with v1.2.0 update and today I'm gonna continue my gameplay.

Just activated another key from GMG for Bloodbath DLC but it looks that DLC will be unlocked after it's release.
