In this deep character driven strategy game, you play as the head of an illustrious Samurai family. The year is 1467 and civil war has broken out. The authority of the Ashikaga Shoguns has collapsed and it is every man for himself in the provinces. Honor and duty vie with survival in the delicate dance of power, conquest and betrayal as you attempt to unite the land of the Rising Sun through a combination of deal-making with foreign powers, sending your powerful samurai armies into battle against your enemies, and unleashing shadowy Ninja clans under the cover of darkness to assassinate your rivals!
FEATURES:
*Control a noble family in Feudal Japan
*Rise in influence and power within your clan and go on to claim the ultimate prize
*Conquer and grow while rewarding your most valued retainers in your bid to become Shogun
*Detailed historical map of Japan during the warring states period
*Make deals with external powers, including the Portuguese and the Dutch
*Employ the aid of powerful Ninja clans when your Samurai armies are not enough
Not to excited about this, perhaps if the character systeem is realy awesome is might be fun, but paradox has yet to deliver that awesome charecter system. I dont feel a need for a strategy game in japan with shogun 2 on the horizon, although paradox will produce a better strategy game then the total war series (without 3d battles of course)
Will it have battles, or will some dice decide the outcome ?
it is likely to be similar to crusader kings where the focus is to build your dynasty and keep your followers loyal.
I don't see why you'd say it's for retards? it's obviously gonna be much much more complex than the shogun strategy part...

Yeah, basically it's the total War games that are made for the retards.
Just check the majority comments on the trailer for this game. That's the demographic for the Total War games.
No pre-order discount, as of yet. Also, not sure if it'll disappear/re-appear - the Game of Thrones product page has been up-and-down, so this might do the same? *shrugs*

No pre-order discount but if you use the voucher code GREEN-MANGA-MING1 then you get 20% off, that would make it a good deal I think? I have never played a Paradox game but I did enjoy the politics of Shogun 2, shame that it always forced you to fight eventually so maybe I will enjoy Sengoku.
I want to buy this but it would be nice to play it using Steam rather than have yet another loader client thingy. Steam has many paradox games on it so I wonder if they will add it soon (at a good price hopefully).
