He was until he found out the patch invalidates the save games. He was 9 hours in.

read somewhere if the game doesn't launch, to disable dual monitors. Worked for me as I run a dual setup
2600k, GigaByte R9 290x, 8 gis of ram on Windows 7 X64

Cuntland's "patch" has not only wiped save games, but it's also crippled performance. What was perfectly smooth and enjoyable in EVERY possible way, is now a stuttering, lagging, hitching mess.
