Backfire how? I don't see how it makes it harder to detect cheaters. They can now shoot or not shoot through walls, doesn't really change much. Might be easier to get banned by dumb pub admins though.

There's only one thing that I really dislike already about this game. Even though I didn't play it yet.
The friggin music... gonna disable it ASAP.. what an awful score...

Can't say I agree with them charging $10 extra to get beta access, that's kind of money whoreish IMO.
I own the original, but even with 20% off at $40, the price seems a little steep for what they're delivering - especially considering the BF3 beta is a mere two weeks away.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Comparing RO with BF is like comparing BF with COD. Two different style of games, not the same people who play RO, are going to play BF, and viceversa.
And hell yes I pay 32$ for the DDE edition, we have server files, lan friendly, proper admin tools, free dlc and mod tools (modders are already working on mods) and if you are a steam whore the game is available on steam 
MUCH more "love to gamers" than any other game out there.
32$ today for a game like RO, is a bargain, is one of the last not-dumbed-down-for-consoles game.

Nope - you need to preorder the digital deluxe version mate - that's the only way.
btw - the beta access is included in the DDE but it's not the only extra and they actually included it expecting less numbers to buy it but the demand is what pushed back the release date as they had to prepare for a bigger beta test than they anticipated. Any comparison with BF is crazy - and frankly if someone played the original and doesn't already realise that it's not a game that compares with BF, COD etc they probably should keep their money anyway.

Voodoo Extreme will be giving out beta keys sometime next week. One of the devs mentioned it in the steam chat yesterday. I guess more sites will do this.

Coming from a beta session, I have only one (quite big) dissapointment : no MG42 in game whatsoever. I mean not only in the beta, but even in the finished game, according to the Tripwire forums (http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=53074). Also, no G43 - which was much more widespread than the badly designed, short lived, G41 they chose to put in game. They were both used in Stalingrad, G43 having also a sniper version.

Keep in mind that this is a beta... I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get those weapons with unlocks, if they fit in the Stalingrad timeline.

The G43 wasn't even in production until 8 months after Stalingrad, and AFAIK the MG42 wasn't deployed in large numbers.
Yoshiro said that there's always the chance of a future update including the MG42.

Game is good but there are many bugs in this beta and trying to get it stable and looking okay is seriously boring the arse off me. I hope they have enough time to fix this before release.
