The reason Xenons aren't supported is because the hack makes use of the 360's HANA chip (HDMI) whereas the Xenon only had the ANA chip. As best as I can tell.

So that means very old 360's without HDMI cannot do this?

There's a booming market for Xenon JTAGs with reballed chips and 12v fans. Amazingly, once reballed and with better cooling, they last quite a while.

I can't decide if i want to buy the tools now, or wait for a task-specific modchip like device to come out. I mean, a JTAG programmer could potentially have some uses in the future aside from just xbox hacking, right?
I guess its kind of moot until there is a workable solution to actually run games.

If this isn't available as an easier method by December, I'll just buy a Falcon JTAG from ddsdavey once I return back to the UK for Christmas. I'd buy one now, but getting the machine through customs would cost me almost as much as the cost of purchase itself.

"Almost" tempted. I'm not going to, I'll grab a Falcon once I'm back in England - or if this hack has been made easier I'll just use my existing Jasper-512. Oh and in regards to your edit; it's to run software. The hack is done via HW, but it has a 25% chance of launching the software each try - ie, XeLL, but once it's launched it's done until you turn off your machine again.
I can deal with a +/- 2 minute launch time. I've got an iPod Touch and that fucking piece of crap takes EASILY 2 minutes to boot.

I'm not sure how easy its going to end up being, unless they figure out a way to modify the firmware directly on the NAND instead of dumping it, inserting the payload on your PC, and reflashing it. Even if the do figure out a way to do it directly, you will still need to solder on the JTAG programmer, in addition to the FPGA that needs to stay soldered onto the xbox for the attack itself.

I've thought about that but E-bay is cracking down on Jtag sellers.
True Story. I bought one from a guy on there and tried to re-list the item.
They pulled the auction.
I ended up selling it local so no loss but Fleabag is right. That whole site has changed.

Oh. Your Xenon is already JTAGed... sorry mate. Since eBay is cracking down, stick it on Xbox-Scene or something?

I have a Xenon jtag machine. Its still good and working fine. But at this point of time I am little confused. Should I buy a new slim model or stick to my old one.
BTW is the new slim models are immune to RROD? If so which model?
