save Malik without killing anyone? I tried like 5 times using only non-lethal weapons and takedowns, but i just don't have enough time. Had to kill a couple of dudes with a sniper rifle - obviously can't get the no kill achievement.
The game runs quite good on my PC too (8600 GT, Core 2 Duo E6850, 4GB RAM - all with a bit of overclock). I'm playing on 1024x768 with FXAA on high, post processing on ON, AF on x16, shadows on normal and everything else on OFF if I remember right.

JB, is this in that storage from the alley? What edition/release of the game are you playing?
Also, Jensen's apartment is in Detroit right? I've been exploring the area all day and it's fucking huge, so many thing to be found in it, but I haven't reached the apartment yet. I'd like to store some things there, but will I still have them after I leave Detroit and come back?
Yes it's the one with the basketball hoop and those two thugs.
(Not much of a spoiler I hope, there's a lot of hidden extras to discover.)
The game is the same no matter the edition (Aside from possible language specifics and potential censoring.) but the method it's cracked (I use a legit copy though.) would activate the DLC if taken into account (Flagged as valid or what to say, authenticated by "steam" though in this case that's a modified .dll or likewise.) I've found a few things like this such as the occasional hidden AUD probe and this specific sniper rifle.
(You get one at the start but you could sell it and then pick this one up or drop the previous and sell this as to not lose any potential mods applied to it.)
I like it but it deals about half the damage of the other sniper rifle but of course it's relatively silent instead and can be upgraded a bit, similarly the classic double-barrel shotgun is powerful but has low ammo capacity and poor reach though it really dominates in close quarter fights.
(Then again so does the pistol when upgraded a little bit.)
Just finished with the first city district it seems (halfway?), I assume there's about two left though the game length could be anything (But probably more concentrated so shorter unless this new area is even more spread out, would be nice.), so far I mostly repeated what I did in the beta (Which covered about to this part though not quite.) so it took far less time but still around 12 hours and I found a few new tricks and possibilities.
(It seems the newspaper tries to cover what you do more than I thought and at times the Sarif employees comment on rumors regarding your choices which I thought was just extras for the first mission, in the beta version when I played that.)

You'll go to Detroit and Hensha two times each city, not counting the other story zones.

Ohh my old pc ati 4870,E8400,4GB ram is all covered with dust.
I am waiting for the garbage guy to pick it up and blow it to pieces... boooooooom
Are there any audio tweaks available as the 5.1 voice audio seems low at times and I cannot figure out how to bring up that original starting config file again to see if it had any different audio options.
Despite it not being the "canon" one; I sided with Sarif. I believe augmentations should be available to everybody and the Illuminati just want to control them.
Sadly, the Taggart/Illuminati ending IS the canon one, since we know the events of DX1-2 are predominantly based around the Illuminati as from what we gather in DXHR, Bob Paige appears to still be working with the Illuminati and it's him that coopts Megan's research into biomods and nanotechnology, using Jensen's DNA as the catalyst. Then he splinters off into MJ12, but not before pioneering nanotechnology with VersaLife.
Both hubs are pretty sizeable actually, but yes; only two main hubs. You visit other areas outside the hubs though =)
Spoilers regarding Picus
Spoiler:
I do believe there has been a massive continuity error though. During your sojourn around Picus, you discover that it's actually being ran by the Illuminati (isn't everything? ) and you can read emails from/to Morgan Everett - who, at this period in time, would be 2nd in command to Lucius DeBeers. Sadly the error comes from the fact that Morgan Everett is speaking to Nicolette DuClare as she's working at Picus.
This is simply not true or even possible. DXHR is set 20 years PRIOR to DX-TC (using the PS2 subtitle as a way of easily differentiating the games) which would leave Nicolette less than 10 years old, since she was in her mid-20s during her time at Silhouette in France. I'm pretty sure the devs/writers meant BETH DuClare, which makes more sense as it was Beth who worked with Morgan, not Nicolette.

You can either open registry editor and delete this whole branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HR
Spoiler:
Don't know about save games safety tthough.
or copy this:
Code:
dxhr.exe -setup
Create a new text file in your game directory, paste this copied string there. Then rename it to, let's say:
open_config.bat
(Pay attention to the extension!)
Then run it. The setup will open up.

Show some respect to the glorious Core2Duo + Ati 4870, they still rock!
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say "rock" - I lament my humble rig daily - but I do still love it. Core2 Duo + 4870 was a fantastic combo
Oh and I found this on EM's forum, comparing DXTC and DXHR. It's a pretty fun read, but only open if you've finished DXHR!
Spoiler:
This game gave me such a great feeling of nostalgia that I couldn't help but feel comparisons between DX:HR and DX1.
-Both games have you beginning in a large American city - New York City vs Detroit.
-Both games have you begin with your 'mentor' giving you a choice of what weapon you want to begin the game with. There are 4 choices.
-Both games' first mission has the police under orders to hold back as you, the test subject, undergo the mission alone. The mission ends with the terrorist leader spouting rhetoric. You can kill him if you want to.
-Both games' second 'hub' city is a location in China plagued by Triads. The main nightclub is located here.
-Both games' third location is a French-speaking major metropolitan city.
-Both games have a late-game Martial Law being declared and the police will shoot you on sight. There are civilians to watch out for.
-One of the Triads is led by a man named Tong. He's really into augmentation. You essentially enlist their aid but first you must do a quest for them. The other known Triad is a bunch of baddies. The third Triad is unnamed.
-The major antagonists (MJ12/FEMA andor Illuminati) major hideout is located underneath the first major hub city.
-After you're done with the two major "hub" cities, you're sent through a series of different locations with more combat/sneaking and much much less civilian interaction.
-The final area is introduced by the flying of a large ballistic missile.
-The "boss" enemies consist of a brute (Gunther/Barrett), a bloodthirsty woman (Anna/Federova), and an arrogant leader-figure (Simons/Namir). The last is fought in a facility focused around going underwater.
-An underwater facility exists where pretty much everyone is dead.
-The ultimate "boss" baddie is the head of a multinational corporation and a public figure. They're hooked up to some giant apotheosis machine. You "fight" them while they're plugged into this machine.
-The end consists of you having to choose between embracing uncontrolled technology, sending technology into a Dark Age, and handing the world over to the Illuminati. Bonus for DX:HR having the DX:IW option of ***itall blow up everything!
Going crazy here. Actually been yelling for about an hour, CANNOT find my way again to the Antenna in Detroit. I mean WHAT THE FUCK, why do I have to go there for the chopper to pick me up?
I've killed everyone in the DRB area and still haven't found any fucking way to climb up to that fucking roof. Walkthroughs on the net are horrible, they say "go this way, turn left, you see a guard and then..."
Anyone can provide CLEAR instructions on how to get to that motherfucking roof?
Craziest shit is, I had no trouble going there on the leak.
Effortless; you'll see yellow canisters and red barrels dotted around the room. Throw ONE yellow canister at him, that will stun him, then throw a red barrel directly. Repeat this three times and you win.
I threw 4 gas (green gas) canisters and one fire extinguisher and the cutscene played
Well no, not really. I disabled the antenna when I first saw it (GOD I love shit like that. Reminds me of the "You can kill Anna Navarre and the game accounts for that!" stuff in DXTC) and I still had to return to the helipad to meet Faridah later in the game.
@Venn
I'm sorry, I can't help you. I just explored and found it quite easily, mate. The only "advice" I can give you is that you need to climb up the elevator shafts to reach the antenna.

Like Venn... it took me like... 2 hours (!!! ) to find it AGAIN (I've been there before but I hadn't finished all sidequests yet, to leave). I was incredibly frustrated. I don't know why both of us had so much trouble to find our way.
