|
 |
Hey for those folks using super old firmware (and who use the PPF-O-Matic Wave 3 patch on every game they download) has anyone updated to this latest dashboard update yet to play? Normally I update my dashboard using a USB key, then I can play whatever game is trying to update my dashboard. Now as everyone knows the AP 2.5 has been shutting down some games from playing, and what i've been reading on the Wiki it updates the AP 2.5 on this one too. Although I have been reading in other forums that some people are complaining that NO GAMES work after the update. Has anyone tried doing it yet and lost access to any other games?
If there is even a miniscule risk of me losing the ability to play any of the games after this backup I'm not even going to try. I doubt Bodycount is even worth the risk to try this.

I thoughd if you update to the lastest dash. your drive wil be reflashed to the originial firmware. So then you have to reflash your drivew again.

The wiki, what wiki? From what I've read you have to reburn the AP25 games if you want to play them again. Run the isos through the latest ABGX first for a patch.

Jaapie18 - That's what i'm afraid of. I'm not going to risk updating the dashboard to have it reset the flash in my drive -- that's what I needed to know.
heatshot - lots of people are posting technical questions in this forum, and not a lot of people are posting about having older flashed drives. I started a thread a long time ago about it to get some input and it helped me a lot. who cares where it's posted? i'm sure it'll be moved if it's really a problem for everyone.
rofl_mao- here is a link to the Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_system_software
the latest update doesn't say how it affects AP 2.5 specifically, but from what i'm hearing it's resetting the flash.
piggymouth - no one in that thread is posting about older flashed drives, and I don't feel like reading 43 pages of stuff that doesn't pertain to me, thanks.
Boomdoom - don't need shitty input like that. I'm not confident in opening up my system and flashing shit myself, I paid a guy in a city I don't even live in anymore to flash it for me. I dont play live and just want new 360 games to work on it, I don't care if its the 'latest version' and shit. sounds like i'm gonna be forced into having to do it myself pretty quick though, what a pain in the ass.
anyways, thanks for the 'good' input guys.

Pain in the ass...? Hardly....
It's easier than you might think. It's all learning and all of us had to start somewhere.
I was like you. I wanted someone else to do it but when I did it myself I felt better about the whole thing and laughed at how easy it was. Seriously...It's like paying someone to mod your PSP.
The Jungleflasher guys have a very nice walkthru posted on there site. Even though I've flashed lots of drives I still use this guide as a reference.
Accept the challenge and flash the drive yourself. You'll gain experience, knowledge you never knew you had and learn something in the process.

Dude isn't that very difficult and risky? Requiring special hardware and such? Is there some kind of quick and ease noobs' guide to flashing then? Preferable a video tutorial on YouTube
