Can you display the contents of that ".iso" file please or at least the size? I'm just curious is all. The P2P pack seems to be fine. I was even able to use my legit steam saves on it as well, which is a huge plus.

Did you just move your steam saves into the folder made by the P2P release? I am wondering if I can do the reverse with the Ali23 release and move those saves to the legit one when I get it soon.

Absolutely not true Wink I'm on AMD and FXAA High works just fine for me.

I can play on high aswell but as soon as I put it to medium it crashes and tells me to lower my video settings.

FXAA High on my 2GB 6950^ is just beautiful and frames are still a solid 60fps.

And moosenoodles, it is not nVidia only. They released it first, but since it's shader based it can run on any card with the right level of support. Someone even managed to hack it into DX9 games, and it's available in OpenGL too it seems.

In other words, as opposed to PhysX FXAA is not platform/hardware limited/locked.

My first impressions playing this steam retail were Rainbow 6 Vegas meets metal gear or Splinter cell as some of you's have said previously. It's that cover system.. it works but it also changes the game style. Also, for the game to rely and encourage the use of stealth so heavily in the early levels that I have played so far, the stealth mechanics are sub par to both the latter titles, which is a let down.

I really like the music and the atmosphere is suitably good in the game. Still has some of the cheesy voices like in the past DX games too, which is all good. Slightly disappinted that the whole feel of the game still feels a little "consoley" still (is that a word?).

The player/enviroment interaction deceived me at first.. I was expecting to be able to press butons on vending machines or pick up mops and brooms etc.. basically move stuff around and play around like you could in the original. Except you can't, everything is kinda just stuck there or doesn't do anything.. less pyhsics then in the first game?. Items like ammos and medicines are blended in with all the other useless level decoration. I can understand why they chose to item highlight the objects now. I am still playing with that option set to off though but I think it actually doesn't make a bit of difference, in fact it makes collecting the useful stuff more of a slightly needless chore instead.

Still early days into this game though and still looking forward to playing through the rest of it and seeing wha the story has to offer.

Playing on the "play it like Deus Ex" level. Sounded like the one to pick!. Very Happy

I'm not sure I agree with that the stealth mechanics are worse then MGS. I do love MGS, but the controls and camera really make things difficult there at times which is a problem DX3 doesn't have. Splinter Cell does have an edge though.

Also, DX1? Did you really have that type of interaction? To be able to lift and move things? I do know we had it in DX2, but not so sure about the first one? I might be wrong in tha tthough

Yes. I took the the entire contents of the save folder, the gameq.xxx and saveindex or whatever, etc... No issues here.

Well, you're using the DX9-renderer, I'm using the DX11-renderer so it's not really comparable.

It was such a nice game, until I got to the fight against Barret. Having thrown all the barrels at him, my grenades, spent all my ammo...he's still standing and proceeds to kill me. Thing is I've been playing it as a stealth game and thats how my character has been setup, so I don't have the typhoon and perfect aim and all that stuff which is really a shame as it would appear thats how the game has to be played to be able to get past points like these.
This has ruined an otherwise good game.

Apparently you don't have to shoot a single bullet to him?

edit: err wrong video. I remember there was a video where the player just threw barrels.

You're obviously blind if you've played the Lee Hong mission and didn't find it. 5 of those are at the table exactly where the quest starts.

Oh boy, Barret... Spent two hours trying to kill him (with almost no ammo at all)... Until I noticed the three gas canisters to the right of where we start and thrown him all the 3 and defeated him...

I died a couple of times too with my stealth character, but all it took was 2 EMP grenades and 1 and a half clips of the combat rifle emptied into his face point blank.

3 frag mines at his feet, "half" a clip from a heavily modded combat rifle with the zero recoil mod (your own zero recoil aug) directly into his noggin.
I'm playing through the game using stealth and taking everybody out via non lethal means. Very Happy

ok is it possible that I'm
at M11,
on deus ex level,
with a LOT of exploring
and completing 90% of the side quests I've been given(Actually I've done all up to hengsha, besides s5 I think),
playing carefully, with minimum use of force,
*except for the random outbursts of violence where I kill SWAT people and civilians Very Happy ofc I reload after that grinhurt*,
did only hack upgrade to level 3 and strength to level 3, still have 6 practice points left over... and >9000 credits and I spent 4000 on that black girl searching crap in the bin grinhurt
 Spoiler:

in under 10-11 hours?!

Steam says that I've played 7 hours up until now and I'm not sure if it counts the time I played, before it got officially "unlocked". If not, then you might add 3-4 hours, so we are at the 10-11 ...
